Mary's perpetual divinity...I think you used the wrong word there.
To: Popman
Our Lord having half brothers mean the Immaculate Conception is a man-made construct... Not in the least. I am a firm Protestant believer in the virgin birth.

I was not aware Catholic teaching was that Mary remained a virgin...that would mean Mary's marriage to Joseph was never consummated.. so by Catholic doctrine..would the marriage be valid?

Hi Alex! Then I noticed the spelling “fleshly.” Is that an adverb meaning being fat?
Jesus, you know I love you. We’re just kidding. See you at prayer before dinner.

Immaculate Conception does not refer to Jesus’ conception.

Correct me if I am wrong, but immaculate conception is the catholic belief Mary was conceived by normal means, but became immaculate at her birth by the grace of God...and the incarnation was the virgin birth of our Lord...
To remain in the state of immaculate, Mary would need to remain a virgin...
At lest that’s my take on it....

I am as well
Immaculate conception is the idea that Mary was born sinless by the grace of God....
The incarnate is the virgin birth of Christ....
I will admit I could be confused....just like many actual Cathoics

"...Marys perpetual divinity has always been maintained by the Church,..."
Did you mean to write virg instead of div?

And there is not one thing biblical about what you said.

P.S> Mary is NOT divine. She was a woman favored by God, just as many others have found favor with God.

Catholics will strangely say that Mary remained a virgin for her entire life and never had relations with her husband. Not likely... but possible. I have never really considered the possibility, or honestly even cared one way or the other. Does any of this change the outcome of histor? Faith is a matter of faith.

Our Lord having half brothers mean the Immaculate Conception is a man-made construct... The virgin birth is biblical. The immaculate conception is a man made construct.

If Mary was born sinless, she needed no Savior. That is inconsistent. If people could be born without sin, there is no need for Calvary.
