I didn't spend all week.

Wasn't even prepared for your comeback.

I spent literally 5 minutes looking for the first 4...and a few more minutes for the 5th. Only one was a blog. Another was a forum discussion.

Two were general authorities.

See...you don't represent all of your mishies, your general authorities, etc. like you think you do?

Besides, even tho I cited FIVE...all it took was "one" citing to destroy your "never" statement.

(Guess you're not omniscient, after all, eh?)

You cited what?? Spencer Kimball never said it. Or are you just imagining he said it??

Then you found a quote from 1941.... from...who again?

Then a quote from a forum from some random person and a 19yr old missionary...woohoo!

5 minutes...right...LOL! And the rare quotes you did find weren't even in context...

But whatever... *chuckle*

(Oh, you seemed to forget Lds “apostle” Bruce R. McConkie in a book republished by the Mormon church under the rather authoritative title of “Mormon Doctrine”)

So? Maybe someday it will dawn on you that McConkie's choice of words has nothing to do with your claim...well...maybe you won't. Just because among all the millions of Latter-day saints, some where in time, you found one that put those two words together does not mean we use that phraseology.

You seem to have forgotten about your ummm "misquote" of Spencer W. Kimball.

Yah, right...Because of that false claim that Mary is God’s mother

God’s purpose was to take on the form of a human to learn and understand the temptations we go thru and to overcome those temptations...To draw people to him and become the Jewish Messiah...

Mary had nothing to do with the ‘divine’ arriving in her body...It was placed there by God...It was placed there by God and put into a human fetus/Jesus...

Just as with us, the physical body of Jesus was just a shell for Jesus to live in...

I know it’s been a while since you posted this, but we have had family from out of town visiting us, so I am just now responding.

Set aside for the moment what the Catholic Church says about Mary and let’s look at what the Holy Spirit reveals in Sacred Scripture. In Matthew 2:1-15, which tells about the wise men who were looking for the King of the Jews, it is written: “when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him”.

The first thing to note is that it says the wise men worshipped him, not Mary, not him and Mary, just Him. So to say that Mary is his mother is not to say she is to be worshipped. But in calling Mary the mother of this young child who is being worshipped, isn’t the Holy Spirit telling us that Mary is the mother of God in human form, the Jewish Messiah?

If not, why?

No...Not at all...In fact the Holy Spirit was very careful to avoid calling Mary the mother of God in the scriptures...

We know nothing about the mother of Jesus other than what the Holy Spirit revealed in the scriptures...Mary was not and is not to be the focus of our attention...There is nothing in the scriptures that allow for apparitions of Mary, praying to Mary, creating statues of Mary or any thing remotely connected to Mary...And has been shown countless times, scripture teaches against these things...

God tells us in Isaiah that he will not share his glory with anyone...That of course includes Mary...

It is ridiculous to even consider God having a mother...That's crazy...

We know nothing about the mother of Jesus other than what the Holy Spirit revealed in the scriptures.

While it is true that the words “mother of God” do not appear in Scripture, the Holy Spirit clearly supports the concept that Mary is the mother of God incarnate. If you can show me how the following verses do not show that Mary is the mother of God incarnate, please do so.

The angel of the Lord told Joseph that Mary shall bring forth a son, who shall save his people from their sins; that this was done, to fulfill that which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. This clearly shows that Mary is the mother of God.

Gabriel told Mary that she shall conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shall call his name Jesus; that He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. The angel further said The Holy Ghost shall come upon her, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow her: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of her shall be called the Son of God. This clearly shows that Mary is the mother of God.

Elisabeth’s womb leaped in her womb when Mary greeted her; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? This clearly shows Elizabeth calling Mary the mother of God.

After Mary gave birth to Jesus in Bethlehem, the angel of the Lord told shepherds that unto them is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. Mary is the mother of this babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, which is Christ the Lord. This clearly shows the angel telling the shepherds that Mary is the mother of Christ the Lord.

It was revealed to Simeon by the Holy Ghost that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, Simeon took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said, Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel, and Simeon said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against; (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed. This clearly shows Simeon saying that he has seen the Lord to Mary his (the Lord’s) mother.

When the wise men come into the house where they found the King of the Jews, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him. This shows that Mary is the mother of the Christ the King.
