You really don’t rely on scripture much do you? Invectives don’t replace sound teaching from scripture.

Just a passing thought: Try posting what you know of the truth to combat what you think are untruths...instead of your fists.

No, I'm the one, of many by the way, who wants to keep it in line with what the apostles taught.

I don't know HossB86. I don't remember ever seeing any of his comments before on FR. But I guarantee this: I like what he writes.

You wrote: You’re flacky when you’re offering nothing of value but your own crackpot anti-Catholic gibberish." So I went to look for any of that gibberish.

I found nothing of the sort.

Here's what I did see from Hoss

#154 -"If you're not praying to Almighty God, it is idolatry. Or, in this case, Mariolatry."

#157 - [re. Jesus never carrying a Bible] "Maybe so... but he did say (a lot): "It is written..." "

#161 - [re. Mary the mediator - a point-by-point, scripturally supported response, that ends "Somebody's got some 'splainin' to do.... Much ado about heresy."

#168 - "Mary is dead; in Heaven no doubt, but NOT omniscient; asking you friend to pray for you is reasonable; that person, properly, would be praying to GOD on your behalf; not to Mary." and

#188 - "A little personal there, aren't we? Flak is heaviest when you're over the target I suppose. That's okay.

.

--------

And, by contrast we have YOUR posts on this thread:

#62 - I was just cranking up the obnoxious “Christians”

#65 - I’ve seen how nasty your posts are

#73 - Wow, good luck with sharing anything with that guy. He’d have never converted anyone had he ever had that as a mission

#122 -I find it interesting that those who claim to be religious experts are so determined to split the Christians.

#176 -Get the snakes. Tell it like it is. Get them hill people angry.

#173 - Hey, paddle faster. Here comes preacher Cynical Bear.

#180 - It’s very true of our cranks on this thread.

#188 -"...you kooky single-minded bigot."

Which brings us to: #193 -"You’re flacky when you’re offering nothing of value but your own crackpot anti-Catholic gibberish."

And this: #191 -"Oh, that’s right. You’re the expert on how folks should pray and what Christianity is and how you want to make it divisive."

OK, then, what’s a prayer that’s “like” the Lord’s Prayer without actually being the Lord’s Prayer?

>>If you are going to use arguments from Catholic thought, then you need to use them as Catholics understand the words.<<

O Mother of God, Immaculate Mary, to thee do I dedicate my body and soul, all my prayers and deeds, my joys and sufferings, all that I am an all that I have. With a joyful heart I surrender myself to thy love. To thee will I devote my services of my own free will for the salvation of mankind, and for the help of the Holy Church whose Mother thou art.
From now on my only desire is to do all things with thee, through thee, and for thee. I know I can accomplish nothing by my own strength, whereas thou can do everything that is the will of thy Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ. Thou are always victorious. Grant, therefore, O Helper of the Faithful, that my family, my parish, and my country might become in truth the Kingdom where thou reignest in the glorious presence God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, forever and ever. Amen. [http://www.marypages.com/PrayerstoMary.htm]

Tell us how Catholics understand those words different then would be normal. Tell us how that is only asking Mary to pray for you. Tell us that is not replacing Christ with Mary.

What did the Holy Spirit inspire the writers of scripture to call her? Mother of Jesus or mother of God?

Did Jesus get His God qualities from Mary?

It is contained in that very prayer...

“whereas thou can do everything THAT IS THE WILL OF THY SON”

This alone is enough to know that the one who prays this is not treating Mary as a Divine Person. She does nothing on her own, but only in accord with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. You have no argument.

If only more people were to pray this every day, the world would be a better place.

(To the thread poster): ...a bunch of materialistic minded holier-than-thou Christians sit around asking for “things” instead of asking for God's help and mercy with their self-righteousness. Righteous you are not, sir. Self-righteousness, THAT you ARE in honey bucketfuls.

(You said with apparent dripping self-"righteosity") :)

I've always found it in interesting on the FR RF where somebody will place themselves on some high ground looking down upon others, finger-pointing, accusing, telling them they know what the standard is for being proven guilty of "self-righteousness," yet cannot help but fail -- according to their own expressed standard -- wind up flaunting their "righteousness" above others.

(Care to explain how it is you've escaped the pitiful escalation of those who become entrapped in accusing others of "self-righteousness?"

You see, I view such accusations as "spiritual STDs"...it's a "gift" that never knows any boundaries...it just keeps on "giving".

Somebody vaunts righteous indignation upon another, accusing them of being "self-righteous." Then a third party weighs in, seeing that vaunted righteous finger-pointing aimed at another's alleged self-righteousness. Then a fourth party could join the discussion, not appreciating that the third-party was using his personal righteousness to "scold" the original scolder.

He got his human qualities (Catholics say “nature”) from Mary and his Divine qualities from God the Father. Catholics call it a hypostatic union... oh, but that is not in the Bible, so you will not believe it.

Try posting what you know of the truth to combat what you think are untruths...instead of your fists.

Well, just imagine...

That path is commonly known as 'civil discourse'.

Something that is typically lacking in both the 'bash the Catholics' and the 'bash the Protestants' threads here on the RF.

For examples, just re-read this thread. Take note of how often certain posters follow THIS Scripture..

If the shoe fits...

If you are going to use arguments from Catholic thought, then you need to use them as Catholics understand the words.

Poppycock!

This thought process is a hole being dug to Hell that you'll never fully dig yourself out of.

You think far too highly of your own religious education.
