From Fundamentalist Baptist to Catholic – Steve Wilson’s Story
http://www.catholic-convert.com/ ^ | February 26, 2015 | Steve Wilson

Posted on 03/01/2015 4:54:44 PM PST by NKP_Vet

Archbishop Fulton Sheen once wrote: “There are not over a hundred people in the United State who hate the Roman Catholic Church; there are millions, however, who hate what they wrongly believe to be the Catholic Church.”

I was one of those who hated because of what I wrongly believed about the Catholic Church. The reason I had these beliefs was due to being told what to believe about the Catholic Church from those who were told what to believe about the Catholic Church. No one was willing to find out what the bottom line was concerning the Catholic Church. Everything said about the Church was taken as truth while it seemed no one was delving into what the truth really was.

What about these Catholics? They worshipped Mary. They had a religion but not a relationship with Jesus Christ. They said they believed in God but really their belief couldn’t be the same, could it? The Bible says in James 2:19 KJV “Thou believest that there is one God; Thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble”.

So do Catholics have a belief such as the devils? When most Catholics are asked if they have been “born again” or “have accepted Christ as their Savior”, their main response is “I believe in God” or “I am a good person”, or “I’m Catholic”. Also, they have all these rituals, Saints, Statues and what about the Pope is he really standing in for God? Another big item, are they cannibals when they eat the bread and drink the wine during communion? Why do they leave Jesus on the cross, don’t they realize Jesus has risen from the dead?

Hi Mr. Rodgers, hope you’re doing well...

>>>” he said ‘Do this in remembrance of me’?”

Of course, why we are to do something doesn’t change what we are to do.

E.g., if I told you to give your child a hug in remembrance of me, you wouldn’t think I meant a symbolic hug.

Is anti-semitism also welcome in this forum?

If so....why is this forum on FREE REPUBLIC?

Oh wait...I forgot...the argument is that Catholics aren’t even christian at all....I even saw the word “cult” Used....

I actually laughed out loud when I saw that crap....

OSAS another prot myth.

Again ... waiting for any catholic to find the place in scripture where the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit can be reversed.

Jesus said some demons cannot be cast out except by prayer and fasting ... yet apparently a person can cast the Holy Spirit out of themselves somehow?

“I’m a better Christian than you”

Perhaps you are. But my comparison is with Lord Jesus Christ, not you.

For the tactic of ridicule to work, one must know how and when to use it. Not everyone here does, apparently.

Irony again, This is MY body.

I am the Bread of Life

I am the door

I am the vine

I am the Good Shepherd

Not sure what part of this you don't understand.

Jesus is using an example the disciples will understand so they will understand the sacrifice He's making.

How 'bout all those catholic priests molesting little boys?

How about the cover up from the vatican?

How about all those popes who did all of those terrible things they did? Still saved?

Those dudes still saved??

Paul had an on-going battle with the desires of the old flesh....he still saved?

Peter denied Christ three times....he still saved?

<

There are a lot of "good people" in the world today who do these things. People run charities, bring food to sick people, visit people in jail, etc.

However, a lot of those people do not know who Jesus is. They do not believe in Him or have faith in Him and they could care less about Him.

Do those people, because they did these good things, yet do not have faith in Christ, inherit the Kingdom or are they cast into the fire?

Hugo Chavez died 'in the bosom of the Church': Catholic News Agency (CNA).

Once Catholic always Catholic right?

>>Because you have lost the debate!<<

No, because it's futile to discuss scripture with someone who doesn't seem to understand the difference between the old covenant and the new covenant.
