How Many Protestant Denominations Are There?

Partial List of 5000+ Protestant Denominations by Name

How Many Protestant Denominations Are There?    The 20,000 / 30,000 numbers and David Barrett's statistics

"The Facts and Stats on "33,000 Denominations" The 20,000 / 30,000 numbers and David Barrett's statistics
Part II

(Above links derived from here) ===> ("How Many Protestant Denominations Are There?")

⛪⛪⛪⛪⛪⛪⛪⛪⛪⛪

There are many, many more Protestant denominations out there, not just those reflected in the links above.    How many?    Well, nobody really knows for sure exactly how many Protestant denominations exist at any given point in time, because after you get done counting the first forty or fifty thousand, several thousand more new ones pop up here and there all over the place, like popping pop corn!      :-)

We Catholics love all our Protestant brothers and sisters (no matter how many denominations or "non-denominations" they belong to), and we simply want to share the fullness of the truth with them, so that they can find the precious jewel (the "pearl of great price") that we have already found (by the Grace of God).     With that in mind, the following song is dedicated to all our beloved Protestant brothers and sisters, and their ever-increasing number of distinct and ever-changing denominations with contradictory, mutually-exclusive, incompatible teachings.    (And, no, that is not a bunch of cardinals singing that song!)

(Song -- "Bless 'em All!")

(This song is a tribute to all our beloved Protestant brothers and sisters, no matter what denomination -- or "non-denomination" -- they are currently in.)

"I appeal to you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree and that there be no dissensions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment."     (1 Corinthians 1:10)

I would argue that Charles Wesley preached (very eloquantly) through his hymns (some of which we sing in the Catholic Church), and Henry VIII preached through his immoral actions, and through his "founding a denomination" by severing all ties with the Catholic Church. Those deeds follow them in their denomination's adherents.

Did MILLIONS attend your EVIL POPES 'preachings' and masses?

I guess that TEACHING still runs thru YOUR chosen religion today; eh?

Jesus who?

Who needs Him when you have Mary to consecrate your eyes, your ears, your mouth, your HEART, your whole being to?

There’s nothing left for Jesus.

Mary owns it all.

Philemon 1:2 And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house:

How many were in that church?

Colossians 4:15 Salute the brethren which are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the church which is in his house.

What was the "membership" in that church?

Romans 16:5 Likewise greet the church that is in their house. Salute my wellbeloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia unto Christ.

Did Prisca and Aquila have a "cathedral" size house or something?

Acts 20:20 And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house,

I suppose to the Catholic mind those in the house were not part of the "church".

Please show from scripture that there is a minimum size or a specific instruction for gathering location to be part of the assembly of Christ.

>>Did you just skip by post #7 where I specifically stated that Jesus Christ is the Head of His Church, which all Catholics believe?<<

But in the Catholic mind Christ needs a "stand in" right a "vicar" so to speak? In scripture there is only one "stand in" or "vicar" and that is the anti Christ.

>>The sins of individual members of the Church are not the same thing as "the Church", and it is very important to learn that.<<

But when the entire organization incorporates paganism as the Catholic Church does and demands it of it's adherents it is no longer the "church" that Christ calls His body.

>>We ask Mary and the Saints to pray FOR US.<<

How often do we have to show you that that statement is false before you understand that no one with any modicum of sense thinks it's true? There is ample evidence online of the posted prayers to both Mary and the saints asking for specific action on their part other than intercessory prayer making that statement not only false but a joke.

There are probably less than 12 Protestant denominations...

Every time 2 protestants fight, a new denomination is created.

Quoting scripture out of context demeans the quoter.

“Later on the Lord commissioned seventy other disciples and sent them off in twos as advance-parties into every town and district where he intended to go.”

NOTHING in the chapter suggests Jesus was giving authority to one organization with Peter at its head. Indeed, nothing in scripture suggests Peter was ever the Head of the Church. The Vicar of Christ, in scripture, is clearly the Holy Spirit. And denying the Holy Spirit is the unforgivable sin...

>> "Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division." Luke 12:51<<

Yet Catholics on a daily basis claim there is no division in the Catholic Church. Hmmmmm!

Please prove from an infallible source that what the Catholic Church today calls tradition which is not found in scripture is what the apostles taught.

(Do you see how absurd and ridiculous that text sounds, when you misinterpret the text you were quoting by falsely adding the word "church" to that text, when the Holy Spirit did not put it there?)

That's the epitome' of hypocrisy...And the absurdity is yours... Any one who reads and believes the bible knows that the gathering of the saints IS the church...That can and has been proven in the scriptures...

You care to show us in the scriptures where Mary was born without original sin???

The Son of Man had nowhere to lay His head.

It’s incongruous that what Jesus meant by *church* is what is represented in that image.

Catholics disagree on any number of issues.

Or can you show me where every single Catholic is in 100% complete agreement with every other Catholic?

Did you just skip by post #7 where I specifically stated that Jesus Christ is the Head of His Church, which all Catholics believe?

But you guys added a 'neck' to the body which doesn't exist in the scriptures...And in your neck are Saints, Angels, popes, Mary and God knows who else...

God doesn't even answer the phone for you guys...You don't even have his number...You presumably contact one of his secretaries for any business...

And still they have the audacity to claim they do not pray to Mary. I wonder if Gruber is Catholic.

As far as I’m concerned, anyone who tries to stir trouble between Protestants and Catholics is no friend of Christianity.

Then there are a lot of folks at FR who are no friend of Christianity. You can't go to a single even remotely religious thread without seeing it turn into a Catholic versus Protestant fight. And, it's the same people on both sides every time. Not to mention the threads, like this one, designed to attack the other side. I, for one, am extremely tired of it and don't understand why it is allowed to continue. It does nothing to further the cause of Christ or bring glory to God, which is what we are supposed to be doing. Nor does it do anything to advance the cause of conservatism, which is what I thought this site was for.
