""I came to Catholicism from Calvinism." And, obviously understood neither. But, even that is God's management. We are more than happy to hand her over to you folks...keeps her off the streets.

It seems to me such an ugly, ungodly, carnal comment might come from a religious Calvinist, but not from a genuine Christian walking in the Spirit.

Ask them if Mary ever had sex with Joseph. And ask them if Mary ever sinned.

she did neither...she took a personal vow of virginity early in life.....and she had no need to sin an d was protected from doing so....pretty easy job for her kid!

The funny thing about Communion is that Jesus’ instructions were pretty clear and simple. My wife and I partake at home. It’s a very simple kinetic symbol of the foundational support of all of Christianity

WOW, protestants have it easy...I have to get my butt out of bed and actually drive a few miles to church to attend Mass and receive the Body and Blood of Jesus as He told us to do.....Who knew that I could do it myself in my own kitchen....thanks for the deep religious insight!!!

My divorced parents overcame this by making a "donation" to their church before marrying each other.

nonsense

Do convicted murderers on Death Row have a right to receive Communion?

Does anyone see anything wrong with that?

I don’t know about protestants, but I have it pretty easy, thanks be to Jesus. And I follow his instructions, which say nothing of going to a church building to do it. I do partake in church, but as He said, “as often as you do this, do it in remembrance of me.

We do it more often at home than our church does it.

” So the way to be allowed to partake again ...”

I guess that might seem a possibility, but I’m guessing the “contrition” part might be a bit superficial, and the absolution wouldn’t really “take”.

When I was young & learned of the prohibition on divorced people receiving communion, I asked how they managed to get around it. I was told, in a "wink/nod" manner, they made a donation to the church.

they winked and nodded and received the Eucharist invalidly and sinfully....

Dear ZOOKER,

A repentant murderer on death row would be given Communion. An unrepentant murderer probably wouldn't even seek Communion, and it would be wrong to give it to him should he ask.

Conversely, the remarried divorce[e] is not repentant (save in the case where the two have agreed to live without marital relations). Let's be clear: it is not the divorce that was necessarily the sin. It was the attempted remarriage that was the sin, and the sin is renewed each time the remarried person has sex with his or her new “spouse.” It is adultery.

Thus, there is no question of forgiveness. Forgiveness is always available, but it really and truly helps if one acknowledges one’s guilt, and makes some purpose to try to amend one’s life. You know, something about, “Go and sin no more.”

It is nonsense to say that the remarried couple have repented of the sin of the on-going adultery if they don't even acknowledge that it is a continuing sin for them to engage in marital relations.

"Go[ing] and sin[ning] no more" would include separating from the second "marriage."

For those who find themselves remarried, if changing their marital status would cause harm to subsequent children, the couple must do their best to renounce engaging in “marital” relations, and live with each other in continence, as brother and sister. Then, they may freely receive Communion.

I don’t understand how partaking in communion can be withheld for divorce, but actively supporting homosexuality and abortion is A-OK! Hypocritical to the max and 100% un-Christ-like

it is not withheld for divorce, it is for divorce AND REMARRIAGE. Homosexuality if fine as long as you do not actively live a homosexual lifestyle...abortion is never O.K. except to save the life of the mother.
