That's $90,909 per victim. I think this figure shows exactly how contrite the Catholic Pedophile Protection Unit is about this abuse. Eighty-eight kids and no one else at the school knew a thing.

I have never understood why these Catholic abuse cases, have never become a bad reflection on the homosexual community, when so many of these crimes were male on male sexual abuse. Just wondering why this is.

The indoctrination of the Catholic Church instills fear of being "cast out". The insidious evilness of that cult is from Satan. And the "Church" has allowed and hidden those pedophile animals for years and years.

More than *cast out*.

Sent to hell for eternity if the priest retains their sins.

There was a situation a few years ago in Ireland, IIRC, where the families were forbidden to talk about the abuse under the threat of ex-communication.

I remember in mid-1980s seeing a cartoon (don’t remember where) that had a big sign outside of a cathedral that said, “17 days since a priest molested an altar boy.” And the numbers hung on pegs so they could be easily changed. I was 15, so I asked my dad what that was all about. It’s been the biggest running not-so-funny joke longer than I’ve been alive, so it just kills me to see these molestation “revelations” in the media, with the media feigning all kinds of surprise and your usual catholic spokesmen saying that every church has its bad apples.

It’s appalling, it really is. Warren Jeffs’ cult gets rightly infiltrated by the cops and he gets prosecuted and jailed, as it should be. What about the catholic church? Rampant child molestation has been known forever and nobody does anything until a kid comes forward as an adult. It just kills me that it continues.

Know how to put a stop to the child molestation? Pull their tax-exempt status for a year every time it happens. You’ll see a crusade against the molesters like you’ve never seen in your life. And there’d be serious talk about changing the requirements to be a priest. If you can’t marry or have a family to be a priest, of course it’s only going to attract homos. That’s as obvious as the grass is green.

In which case, there wouldn't be a Church in America with tax-exempt status -- insurance statistics indicate that the rate of abuse is higher in Protestant churches.

Paul clearly laid out the requirements for church leadership. The Catholic Church has blatantly disobeyed those requirements to their own detriment.

Well then! That should exonerate them! Now, show me one Protestant church that claims if you don't belong you are not saved.

Shhhhhhhhhh! No one is supposed to know that HOMOSEXUALS who slipped into priestly garb, like Alger Hiss donning the State Dept identity, are responsible for 90% of these cases. The Secularists need to keep the lie swirling that celibacy, Church repression, Church hypocrisy, are responsible, not HOMOSEXUALS. And pedophelia is part of the charade, because post-pubescent boys are always the victims, but the Secularists attempt to substitute the term “pedophelia” for the term HOMOSEXUALITY.

Can there be any doubt they are a cult? Evil! Just evil!

Riverside police have arrested the assistant pastor of an evangelical church on suspicion of having sex with a child. The Rev. Anthony Tyrone McComb was arrested Dec. 16 and arraigned Monday on a charge of committing lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14. McComb is being held at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning. Bail has been set at $1 million. McComb is an assistant pastor at the New Jerusalem Christian Center in Riverside. The district attorney's office said the charges are not related to his work at the church. In 2007, McComb published a book, "Dating With Purpose."

Non-Catholic Clergy Abuse & Crimes

Anyone know how much was paid out to the victim of the above sex abuse or the others documented at the link?

No Catholic will ever defend the indefensible. Most of the sex abuse that took place dates back to the 50's and earlier, long before JPII. I would ask you, however, what is being done in non-Catholic communities to stop predatory sex abuse of children? This is not limited to the Catholic Church.

Sex Abuse of Children by Protestant Clergy.

The Catholic Church here, through its bishops in the USCCB, have implemented a program to prevent future occurrences. This includes all members of the community who come in contact with children, from janitors in the schools to volunteers who teach children at the parish level. We all are subjected to fingerprinting and a police background check. We are also required to attend classes on how to identify sexual predators and what actions to take. This is possible because of the centralized nature of the Catholic Church. It is also the reason why the media have been able to focus a laser beam on us. This is not possible in the non-Catholic denominations where there is no one to take responsibility.

Report: Protestant Church Insurers Handle 260 Sex Abuse Cases a Year

Awareness Center

Worse still, is the sex abuse of children in the education system.

WHEN BOYS ARE MOLESTED BY TEACHERS AND OTHERS IN POSITIONS OF AUTHORITY

And then there are the camp counselors, Big Brothers of America and the list goes on and on. There is plenty of guilt to go around.

Typical strawman response to the above statistics.

“I have never understood why these Catholic abuse cases, have never become a bad reflection on the homosexual community, when so many of these crimes were male on male sexual abuse. Just wondering why this is”

Because the media never reports the abuse cases as being predatory homosexuals. The reason? They love the homosexual agenda. But they also hate the Catholic Church, so they try and tar all Catholic priests are sexual abuse criminals.

“If you can’t marry or have a family to be a priest, of course it’s only going to attract homos”

A queer is a queer whether he’s married or not. You want to get rid of the sex abuse problem in the Catholic Church or any other faith, weed out the homosexuals. Most Catholic priests are not sex addicts, or homosexuals, but most of the sex abuse cases involve homosexuality.

Metmom, we've been knowing each other for a long time, and it saddens me that you would say such a thing. This is no way a Catholic teaching, in theory or in practice.

Why would you invent ---or, a more charitable supposition, repeat --- such bizarre things without checking whether they are true or false?

why do I get the feeling to one particular freeper these abuse cases are like addictive porn?
I picture this person breathlessly sitting by the computer scouring the internet, constantly hitting key search terms and then when a story is discovered, they close the door for privacy.......
almost as sick as the perverts who commit the acts.
the Scriptures have strict warnings against those who glory in evil......

"Now, show me one Protestant church that claims if you don't belong you are not saved."

What an off-the-wall question, meant --- I see --- as a comparison. The Catholic Church does not teach that.

I'll say to you Cynical, what I said to metmom: why don't you do your due diligence of finding out if a thing is true before you say it?

The Catechism's online, you know.Searchable, with keywords.

Honestly, it's so easy.

Mrs. Don-o,

there is no other poster on here that I have more respect for than you. I admire your intellect and Christian patience.
you have read MM for a long time, as well as I.
did you seriously expect her to correctly state doctrine correctly?
we all know the agenda, don’t we?
let’s get real!

Well there ya go! The Catholic Church is just as corrupt as other churches. I'm sure Catholics the world over will sleep better tonight.
