Why would anyone become Catholic?

Why would intelligent, successful people give up their careers, alienate their friends, and cause havoc in their families...to become Catholic? Indeed, why would anyone become Catholic?

As an evangelist and author who recently threw my own life into some turmoil by deciding to enter the Catholic Church, I've faced this question a lot lately. That is one reason I decided to make this documentary; it's part of my attempt to try to explain to those closest to me why I would do such a crazy thing.

Convinced isn't just about me, though. The film is built around interviews with some of the most articulate and compelling Catholic converts in our culture today, including Scott Hahn, Francis Beckwith, Taylor Marshall, Holly Ordway, Abby Johnson, Jeff Cavins, Devin Rose, Matthew Leonard, Mark Regnerus, Jason Stellman, John Bergsma, Christian Smith, Kevin Vost, David Currie, Richard Cole, and Kenneth Howell. It also contains special appearances by experts in the field of conversion such as Patrick Madrid and Donald Asci.

Ultimately, this is a story about finding truth, beauty, and fulfillment in an unexpected place, and then sacrificing to grab on to it. I think it will entertain and inspire you, and perhaps even give you a fresh perspective on an old faith.

You keep missing the salient points, and then misuse them to construct a false prophecy.

Mountains of BRASS are not natural mountains, as brass does not occur naturally.

The word woman exactly does not fit with any scripture; there is also no way to carry any “woman” on a 35’ long missile. If it meant Harlot, there is a word specifically for harlot, but there is no connection to harlotry in the prophecy, that is something you invented and inserted to shore up your wet toilet paper interpretation.

The “chariots” that emerged from the brass mountains did indeed attack the enemies of Israel.

You in every way preach a false gospel that ignores all facets of God’s word.

The Greek word is woman not fire. The amateurish fraud Rood is a joke.

Greek?

We are talking about the ancient Hebrew scriptures; there is nothing in Greek.

As Paul stated, the oracles of God are strictly in Hebrew.

The Hebrew word is woman not fire. The amateurish fraud Rood is still a joke.

In the Hebrew scriptures, the difference is not discernible, as it is a vowel sound, not a consonant.

That is why I said that you just do not understand what you are talking about.

Your hatred of a man of God is taking precedence over understanding.

You did not answer my earlier question regarding Jacob's prophecy as to whether you had a scriptural reference to Messiah or an Apostle interpreting it. That question still applies to Zechariah 5:7 as well, with the addition of others related to your theory that woman was mistranslated by the Jews and almost all Christians in Zechariah 5:7.

  1. When do do hold the vowel markings were added to the Hebrew Bible, and consequently do you believe (as some do) that they too were inspired and preserved by the Holy Spirit ?
  2. How do you account for Zechariah 5:9 using the plural for woman (nashim) since the Hebrew for fire (esh) is only used in the singular ?

Jacob’s prophecy could hardly be more interpreted than his own words; the dominant nation of the entire world is not something that would leave much question. Neither would the nation that colonized the world.

The identities of those two nations is not in any way in question, nor are the colonies.

Do you somehow fear Jacob’s prophecy shattering your man made theology? His words were very explicit.

Thanks for confirming that you do not have Messiah or an Apostle interpreting Jacob's prophecy, and that you are an adherent of British Israelism. Your argument from history is acknowledged and buttresses the historical argument that the holy catholic apostolic church is best represented in the Catholic Church. Who else is there ?

Nothing to confirm.

Neither nation existed at the time Yeshua nor any of his apostles walked the earth.

You thrash to prove nothing, except that you do not accept the ancient scriptures of Moses as the word of God.

You can’t fool Yehova.

>>If Jesus appeared to you and told you to follow all Catholic rituals and practices and follow Him as Founder of His Church, what would you do?<<

First of all I would know it's not the Jesus of scripture. We were warned about people coming claiming they were Jesus. The Catholic Church is primarily made up of pagan beliefs and practices which God condemned throughout scripture. So we can be assured that it is NOT the "church" He instituted.
