The elect in the new testament are gentiles and Jews, here in 1 Thess 4 it is referring to all in Christ at that time.
To be a little light hearted, you think we are going to move into the house that the bridegroom prepared (John 14:2-3) for us before the marriage?
It is an interesting question though, there is so much we don’t know about what it will be like living in New Jerusalem during that 1000 years and then after all are judged and we are living for eternity with our Lord.
2 Thes says you aren't going anywhere, if that you are trumpeting.
Very true, for we only see through a glass darkly. Time will tell as they say, time will tell.

Again ... the author is absolutely clueless ...
I hope you are not questioning my religious devotion. As indicated, I believe Scripture and always will. Thing is, a huge part of my adventurous side would like to stay and challenge evil and save souls and witness God’s wrath and spiritual triumph as things unfold.
No if you thought that you completely misunderstood...but I do take issue with the thought or hope to be left behind, not that you were actually saying that./
Anybody that is left behind was NOT in the Book of Life period...remember we are not the only people reading this thread.
You can read. Whether you reject or not is your choice.
Right; I’m just weird in so many ways.
Ever glance at Twilight? My daughters started screaming at me and ran me out of their room after I was nice enough to treat them to a dramatic reading: Oh, Edmund! How your pallid white pearl-like skin glows palely in the lacy lunar moonlight...
"Daaaaaad!"
Though, I must admit a morbid enjoyment of the movie. It was sooo bad, I just laughed and laughed.
Which move, Twilight, or the original "Left Behind"?
I do remember having Left Behind shown during a Sunday School class (on Revelations, of course), and laughing out loud at a moment of intense action movie cliche. Car explosions, skulking bad guys.

Twilight. It should be mandatory in every acting school—really it’s that bad. :)
I never saw Left Behind. I am old enough to remember the original (1970s) rapture movie, though: A Thief in the Night. It made an impression as well—another really bad movie! It kind of set the standard for D grade Christian films.
They’re all on Netflix now, that’s how I saw them, then I recognized that I had seen them before. I didn’t agree with the rapture part, but I sure liked the rest. Makes me wonder enough to read the books and find out if Buck has a kid eventually, probably does.
I know a woman who considers herself well-read because she has read ALL the Left Behind novels...and no other novel. I tried to get her interested in reading other literature but no go. She is completely convinced that the Left Behind novels are the best literature ever and that any other novels would be a let down. The most depressing thing is that she considers herself quite literate.
The Left Behind/Rapture/Millennialist/Dispensationalist stuff, as it is popularly presented, is just bad theology. It is not sound Christian doctrine.
