Pope Francis, "If Mary is not your Mother, you are an orphan!"
Charisma News ^ | 9/5/2014 | Jennifer LeClaire

Pope Francis has been a breath of fresh air for many Catholics seeking greater liberty and a growing concern for conservative Christians who take issue with his comments about homosexuality and other cultural issues.

But the pontiff's latest statement is sparking an uproar from believers around the world. Pope Francis sent a tweet Tuesday that absolutely violates the truth of Scripture:

"The Christian who does not feel that the Virgin Mary is his or her mother is an orphan," Pope Francis tweeted.

As of the time I wrote this column it had been retweeted about 4,000 times and many of the responses were in appropriately unkind. It's not appropriate to attack the pope for his beliefs. It's more appropriate to share the truth...

Dear RMod,

You are right to keep tabs on things getting awry, but I have asked you please more than once to have that unmentioned element cease and desist with their unwanted emails and I continue to get them. Why the hypocrisy?

And the issue isn’t about a muslim coming to Catholicism and maybe getting saved. The issue is the Catholic church embracing islam.

I guess you can invite any group and allow them to do anything at the Vatican and it’s all good!

You posted a link to jesus-is-savior.com at post 161 and an article from that site at post 167 - they were both removed.

jesus-is-savior.com is barred just like jesus-is-lord.com and chick.com

>> “I’ll be sure to get right on that and embrace the protestant final solution as expressed by the “nuke Mecca” crowd. That’s why I know they are not serious about this issue.” <<

.
So, Yeshua and his angels are “not serious?”

In Psalm 83, he promises to do just that!

Along with Damascus, and the rest of their cities, or is that chapter not in your Bible?

Proverbs 4:14-23 applies. Regardless of what some will say.

I’m sure when the Holy Spirit descends upon somone that He doesn’t consider it weak and a cop out. It’s a shame that you consider it to be.

Yet you shove Jesus over to a minor role. Now that’s classy!

....”The one very much alive, the Queen of Heaven. Who hears our petitions”.....

So are you saying that Mary will listen but God is cold and unapproachable?......That Mary will grant your wishes when God might otherwise reject them?......Are you saying that God is bound by the will of Mary?

So you’re welcome to any abominable practice at the “seat” of Catholic worship in hopes that it might cultivate a “seed of doubt” in a non believers mind?

Abominable. Such a subjective word. So open to interpretation. What a legacy protestantism has left us to the point that words have no meaning anymore.

You ought to invite the westboro crowd to spew hatred. Maybe one or two might convert.

I just might, if the spirit moved me to do so.

Your doctrine and dogma ain’t getting any better.

Oh? I'm sorry. I didn't realize that a matter of faith and morals was dogmatically pronounced by the Pope when the Muslims visited the Vatican. Silly me, I should've known that as soon as they crossed into Vatican territory the entire Deposit of the Faith was altered. This is why it is best that protestants refrain from discussing matters concerning the Catholic Church. Bishop Sheen was right.

By the way, my Free Republic handle comes from a Patriot Guard nickname. The folk in PGR are a bit beyond junior high school insults.

Uh huh. So are you saying you are a PGR or that you adopted the handle of a PGR? And in doing so where you attempting to establish some level of moral superiority over me? Not that it really matters. Besides, I fly airplanes. Motorcycles suck.

The Scriptures which refer to the “Queen of Heaven” is NOT in reference to the Bioblical Mary.....please note...

Jer 7:18 God says:
The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes “to the queen of heaven”, and to pour out drink offerings... ‘unto other gods’,.... that they may provoke me to anger.

Jer 44:17
But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to ‘burn incense unto the queen of heaven’, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.

Jer 44:18
But since we left off to burn incense “to the queen of heaven”, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.

Jer 44:19
And when we burned incense ‘to the queen of heaven’, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men?

The Queen of Heaven is none other than Ishtar, Ashtoreth, or Astarte ....the very pagan goddess that Israel worshipped when they fell into apostasy and paganism.

Judg 2:13 And they forsook the LORD, and served Baal and Ashtaroth.

I rather bask in the fact Jesus chose us before we chose Him...so inner reflection isn’t necessary regarding “who” we profess as a matter of our faith....we KNOW WHO we have believed in. ....and “WHO” our faith ‘rests’ IN.

And what of the evangelical leaders who have been invited and welcomed to the Vatican?

I guess Billy Graham isn't amongst the true, born again believers.

***”So are you saying that Mary will listen but God is cold and unapproachable?......That Mary will grant your wishes when God might otherwise reject them?......Are you saying that God is bound by the will of Mary?”***

That’s exactly what Catholics say. And lest you doubt, here are some links and examples:

***************************************************************
Now as to the Roman Catholic teaching on the matter:
From the Secret of the Rosary, endorsed by your Popes:
“One day the King fell seriously ill and when he was given up for dead he found himself, in a vision, before the judgement seat of Our Lord. Many devils were there accusing him of all the sins he had committed and Our Lord as Sovereign Judge was just about to condemn him to hell when Our Lady appeared to intercede for him. She called for a pair of scales and had his sins placed in one of the balances whereas she put the rosary that he had always worn on the other scale, together with all the Rosaries that had been said because of his example. It was found that the Rosaries weighed more than his sins.
Looking at him with great kindness Our Lady said: “As a reward for this little honor that you paid me in wearing my Rosary, I have obtained a great grace for you from my Son. Your life will be spared for a few more years. See that you spend these years wisely, and do penance.”
When the King regained consciousness he cried out: “Blessed be the Rosary of the Most Holy Virgin Mary, by which I have been delivered from eternal damnation!”
After he had recovered his health he spent the rest of his life in spreading devotion to the Holy Rosary and said it faithfully every day.
People who love the Blessed Virgin out to follow the example of King Alphonsus and that of the saints whom I have mentioned so that they too may win other souls for the Confraternity of the Holy Rosary. They will then receive great graces on earth and eternal life later on. “They that explain me shall have life everlasting life.” [1] Ecclus. 24:31”

************************************************************

And get this one. That Her Divine Son might be appeased and softened???????

Popes on the “sure and most efficacious means” for help from heaven:
“We constantly seek for help from Heaven - the sole means of effecting anything - that our labours and our care may obtain their wished for object. We deem that there could be no surer and more efficacious means to this end than by religion and piety to obtain the favour of the great Virgin Mary, the Mother of God, the guardian of our peace and the minister to us of heavenly grace, who is placed on the highest summit of power and glory in Heaven, in order that she may bestow the help of her patronage on men who through so many labours and dangers are striving to reach that eternal city. Now that the anniversary, therefore, of manifold and exceedingly great favours obtained by a Christian people through the devotion of the Rosary is at hand, We desire that that same devotion should be offered by the whole Catholic world with the greatest earnestness to the Blessed Virgin, that by her intercession her Divine Son may be appeased and softened in the evils which afflict us. And therefore We determined, Venerable Brethren, to despatch to you these letters in order that, informed of Our designs, your authority and zeal might excite the piety of your people to conform themselves to them.” (ENCYCLICAL OF POPE LEO XIII ON DEVOTION OF THE ROSARY)

************************************************************

I believe that this quote answers that question.
When therefore we read in the writings of Saint Bernard, Saint Bernardine, Saint Bonaventure, and others that all in heaven and on earth, even God himself, is subject to the Blessed Virgin, they mean that the authority which God was pleased to give her is so great that she seems to have the same power as God. Her prayers and requests are so powerful with him that he accepts them as commands in the sense that he never resists his dear mother’s prayer because it is always humble and conformed to his will....
