Are Catholic conservatives turning on Cardinal Timothy Dolan?

NEW YORK — Cardinal Timothy Dolan’s positive reaction to this week’s decision by organizers of New York’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade to allow gay groups to march under their own banners initially drew charitable responses in many Catholic Church circles.

But it didn’t take long for conservative church critics to turn.

After initially signaling his grudging acceptance, William Donohue of the Catholic League came back with a revised view when he realized that more than one gay group could be allowed to march in the future.

Dolan's the same creep who congratulated Michael Sam for announcing he's gay. 'Good for him' he said!

Like many bishops in this country I suspect that Dolan is playing around on the same side of the sheets as Sam and the gay marchers...

Dump the sodamy queen. No place for endorsement of sin in a church. You can love sinners and hope they change, but sweeping sin under a big tent is truly wrong.

**“It’s time to cancel the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and the Al Smith Dinner and all the other ‘Catholic’ traditions that have been hijacked by the world,” he wrote. “Better for Catholics to enter their churches and get down on their knees on St. Patrick’s Day to pray in reparation for the foolishness, and to pray for this confused world to return to its senses.”**

I agree with Monsignor Pope. Get down on our knees and pray for reparation for the sins being committed in this modern day world.

Many Catholics don't embrace conservatism because they are afraid of the conservative agenda to shrink social spending.

Catholics get a LOT of money thru social programs.

Seems like Dolan is more interested in satisfying the demands if the PC set than defending Biblical principles.

Turning?

Didn't he turn a long time ago?
Or am I confusing Catholic hierarchy members named Dolan?

I think you’re right exactly.

The “poverty” gospel of finances is not the centerpiece of the New Testament, but rather the grave spiritual poverty, so great and unbelieving that it killed our Lord by crucifixion.

Basically that fact is the great divide among Catholics. The growth of the socio-economic emphasis has overtaken the epidemic of spiritual deficit and fallen victim to the socialist influence, which seems to me to have metastasised
into the broader Catholic culture and certainly the culture at large.

Sorrowfully, the Pope’s good will banter, without teaching truth, has been the go signal for grave errors here and there. I’m sorry for the pope, and sorry for those who take advantage of his weakness in his unserious moments with “journalists”.

Dolan should be excommunicated. He is not a man of God IMHO.

Those aren’t real Catholics/Christians (yes, true Catholics are Christians, Catholic haters). Sadly, such filth has infiltrated the Church from the lowest levels to the highest, for example Dolan. Sigh.

Giving Communion to pro-abortion people is a cause of grave scandal. It is therefore a MORTAL SIN.

Dolan is quoted as saying that the effort to deny Communion to pro-abortion people is “in the past.”

Thus, Dolan is EXPLICITLY in favor of MORTAL SIN.

The OFFICIAL policy of the bishops’ conference is that a bishop may “legitimately” choose to give Communion to pro-abortion people.

Thus, the USCCB is officially in favor of MORTAL SIN.

The only way to describe this situation is ROT. Our bishops—at least the ones who actually speak in public—are MORAL IMBECILES. They are Catholic bishops who are not merely personally corrupt or cowardly. They have repeatedly declared themselves as positively in favor of MORTAL SIN.

And who appointed these moral imbeciles? The Popes.
