You should focus you energy telling the Good News to people who haven’t already heard it.

Not all Protestant churches have fallen. I’ll think about returning to the “mother church “ when it starts consistently excommunicating pols like Pelosy.

Leila Miller is a wife and mother of eight children who has a penchant for writing and a passion for teaching the Catholic Faith in simple ways. This suma cum laude Boston College graduate also loves to debate atheists, advocate for special needs orphans, and attempt the matchmaking of young Catholic singles (not necessarily in that order). All of the above is accomplished on her three blogs: Little Catholic Bubble, Orphan Report, and the invite-only Catholic Moms Matchmaking.

“You should focus you energy telling the Good News to people who haven’t already heard it.”

That’s like saying, “You shouldn’t feed the poor. You need to just preach the gospel.”

We can do both.

Why?

Jesus is all I need. I do not need the Traditions of the Catholic Church to get me right with God.

He has already Saved me from my sins and given me the New Birth (Born Again as Jesus said to Nicodemus).

I have no need to come back to the Catholic Church.

“Not all Protestant churches have fallen.”

Something of an oxymoron.

Something of an oxymoron.

Not at all.

There is probably a majority of Protestant churches that are holding true to the Gospel.

The only reason it might appear otherwise is because of the press trumpeting, for their own reasons, those that have fallen.

Again, your arrogance is obvious. Your lack of Godly humility is telling.

To my Protestant brothers and sisters:

It's time to come back to Mother Church. We want you, we need you, we love you.

How nice. Maybe some time a Christian can write an article...

To my Catholic brothers and sisters: It's time to come back to the one true Church founded at Pentecost. We want you, we need you, we love you.

Single issue conversions are like single issue voters. Leave the Protestant church to join a church with greater errors? Tying ones eternal future to some organized religion is pure folly.

Salvation comes with a faith in Christ alone. Put your trust in Jesus, not some organized “religion”. Then find a Bible based group to study scripture and give praise to God.

“There is probably a majority of Protestant churches that are holding true to the Gospel.”

Actually none of them do. They can’t hold true to the gospel and be Protestant.

Sounds like some kind of cult the way they are always going on about “Mother Church” and stuff.

I don’t care about Priests, robes, incense, foreign languages, candles, all that pomp and crap. We don’t human authority, we need to share the good news. Let us not pretend the messengers are less prone to sin or more important than those in the pews.

“Again, your arrogance is obvious.”

The truth is the truth. Whether you think the truth is arrogance is immaterial.

“Your lack of Godly humility is telling.”

Since you are so out of touch with what is true, your judgment can’t be taken seriously in any case.

“As part of a fund-raising campaign commissioned by Pope Leo X to finance the renovation of St Peter’s Basilica in Rome, Johann Tetzel, a Dominican priest, began the selling of indulgences in the German lands.

“Albert of Mainz, the Archbishop of Mainz in Germany, had borrowed heavily to pay for his high church rank and was deeply in debt. He agreed to allow the sale of the indulgences in his territory in exchange for a cut of the proceeds. Luther was apparently not aware of this.

“Even though Luther’s prince, Frederick III, and the prince of the neighboring territory, George, Duke of Saxony, forbade the sale thereof in their respective lands, people in Wittenberg traveled to purchase them. When these people came to confession, they presented their plenary indulgences for which they paid, claiming they no longer had to repent of their sins, since the document promised to forgive all their sins. “

Luther was outraged that they had paid money for what was theirs by right as a free gift from God. He felt compelled to expose the fraud that was being sold to the people. This exposure was to take place in the form of a public scholarly debate at the University of Wittenberg. The Ninety-Five Theses outlined the items to be discussed and issued the challenge to any and all comers.”

Geez, guys - work on your hymnal and we’ll talk about it.
3 or 4 good ones just ain’t enough for us who grew up in the tradition of actually opening our mouths and singing in church.

The Protestant Reformation produced much more than a bunch of squabbling denominations that stood on their heads to create ways of telling the goats from the sheep.(-:

And, on a serious note, pick up a copy of “When Christians Were Jews (That is, Now)” by Wayne-Daniel Berard.

Sorry, But I hold true to the Gospel every single day.

Jesus has forgiven me of my sins and "Old things have passed away, all things have become new" as Paul stated in II Corinthians 5:17

Sadly, I really don't think you know what it means to hold true to the Gospel.
