Prohibition on Homosexuality Was Never Repealed By Christ

Lately I have been confronted by individuals I thought understood the Scriptures, only to learn that they think God did not say what he said, or that Christ changed the rules on sex when he walked with the apostles. Sadly, there are too many false teachers leading many poor souls straight to hell by claiming that Jesus never spoke against the union of two men or two women. Thus they claim that homosexuality is now either condoned by God, or since the day Moses spoke to God, Moses misunderstood Him about what he said about sexual perversion. So until recently, Jewish religious leaders and every Christian theologian since Peter, John, and Paul were all wrong. Thus we are to believe that those Christians who support homosexuality in the church today are more enlightened then all the others ever were.

I'll begin my defense of the truth by stating that except for the ceremonials ones (which Jesus repealed), all of the Mosaic laws are still in force. That is because there were three categories of laws given to Israel: civil, ceremonial, and moral. The civil laws were ONLY given to the Israelites. The ceremonial laws were filled and abolished in Christ. The moral laws, such as the Ten Commandments and other Mosaic moral laws are universal. They are part of Natural and Divine Law. Homosexuality is clearly contrary to moral and natural laws. All forms of homosexuality are condemned, past, present, and future.

What Jesus did was fulfill the laws handed down by God. Matthew 5:17 If you look at the teachings of Jesus, you will see that he reiterated all the OT laws. What He did do away with however, was the ceremonials laws that were needed to gain forgiveness and be pure before God, but now we look to Christ for our salvation instead of through the works that God required the Israelites to do. So I can say without hesitation that Jesus also did not repeal the prohibition against homosexuality.

There will be many who will now automatically accuse me of claiming that those who commit adultery and other such immoral crimes should be stoned as the law of Moses commanded. However, what they fail to understand is that even under the Mosaic law, the death penalty was not the only requirement for the penalty of breaking the laws of murder, adultery, and other such crimes.

In 2 Samuel chapters 11 and 12, we learn about King David's sin of adultery with Bathsheba, and we also learn about him having Bathsheba's husband Uriah killed because he......

It's time for my brothers and sisters in Christ who are defending homosexuality, to get right with God and stop defending those who are lost in a world of perversion that God calls an abomination.

when did Christ repeal anything? God is not in conflict with God. His death paid our sin debt, but if you don’t accept that Good News, you’re still under the Law, still dead in your sins.

The Law still is. And Thank God, so is the Gospel - ie the Good News.

Matthew 19 - 4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

Man and woman, Christ said. Period.

Amen. I've sent a courtesy ping to a few stalwart FReepers for this excellent post and added "homosexualagenda" to the keywords. Take it from one who was in a gay marriage (happy and complete with God's Blessing of Joy) for over 40 years until my lovely wife died, I'm disgusted by all aspects of sodomy including the corruption of our language, taking a perfectly fine word and twisting it for their vile purposes.

I question whether such people that call God a liar can truly be Christian. Christ really didn’t stutter here:

Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

That passage should terrify every apostate/heretic.

Christ did warn: Remember Lot’s wife. I doubt that there are many Christians that ever get taught about Lot’s wife. We have a majority who are not really all that interested in what Christ said.

do we have christians who defend murderers for murdering?

do we have christians who defend porn stars for being porn stars?

do we have christians who defend adulterers for being adulteraters?

do we have christians who defend rapists for being rapists?

do we have christians who defend alcoholics for being alcoholics?

do we have christians who defend gamblers for being gamblers?

do we have christians who defend thieves for being theives?

are they out there advocating for them, that they can’t help it, and we just hgave to accept them exactly the way they are, the way God made them?

are they out there marching in adultery parades for these people? are they advocating for equal rights for pedophiles because they can’t help who they “love”? are they for support groups in the schools to tell kids it’s okay to murder other people if you’re angry enough? are they for having alcoholics pride week celebrations that require everyone to embrace and celebrate the alcolholic lifestyle? are they opposed to any groups that try to get these people out of the murdering, thievery, porn, adultery lifestyles they are currently wallowing in?

why is homosexuality the only sin they defend? all the rest, they don’t. they refuse to believe what God’s Word says on homosexuality, that’s why. the reason(s) don’t matter.

i have sins i like, that appeal to me, more than others. i’m not out there trying to get approval from others. i don’ t run around trying to convince anyone the sins i like are not sin but are God-pleasing. i don’t have a parade to walk in and show off my sins. i am embarrased and ashamed of my sins, and that i have weaknesses for certain sins. i wait for the day those that appeal to me, will never appeal to me again. i can’t wait for the day there is no “old man” i have to fight each day.

homosexuality is sin. it’s sin lie any other sin, not to be approved of, celebrated, but avoided, shunned, and fought against.

That is my view also.

I find it difficult to call Christian, any person who will not be honest with those living in sin simply because they are worried about losing a friend or family member.

I even find it difficult to call a person a Christian if they vote for a Democrat with full understanding who they are. Ignorance is one thing, but once the truth has been shared with them, they are then ignoring God and the Holy spirit to continue living in sin or supporting those who do.

Thus for a Christian to support those who do, or promote evil, makes them as evil. Evil and God cannot be used in the same sentence. So how can I refer to a person as a Christian if they go against God?

You can imagine that I have few true friends and many family members ignore me. However, I find comfort in Christ because he will never leave me, nor forsake me.

This is confusing. Am I missing something? Misreading something? I can't tell by this text whether you are for/against. Am I misreading?

Sadly you are right. To truly know what He said, means you must evaluate yourself. When you do that you will find that many things you enjoy you must stop. That is where they stop.

God bless you and I praise God for saving you from your past.

I think you misunderstand. I am a man and was married to a beautiful woman, my college sweetheart from a Christian college back in early 1960s, for more than 40 years. Yes, it was a gay marriage -- using gay in the real meaning of the word until the sodomites have corrupted the definition.

Gay: having or showing a merry, lively mood: gay spirits; gay music. Synonyms: cheerful, gleeful, happy, glad, cheery, lighthearted, joyous, joyful, jovial; sunny, lively, vivacious, sparkling; chipper, playful, jaunty, sprightly, blithe.

I want my country back and I want my language back!

Gay = happy, joyful...the misuse of the word, which re_nortex alluded to

Homosexual, because there’s nothing gay about it.
