>Jesus didn’t just speak “alot” on the topic of money and finances -— He spoke about it more than any other subject in the Bible.

That’s just fact. Now that begs the question: Why did He speak about money more than any other topic?<

No. The real question pertaining directly to this thread is why did Jesus always portray God as a rich CEO, always with private property, in His parables?

Rush supports Elton John.Hired him to do his wedding because he called him at the hospital. How sweet.
Has anyone called Rush about his support of Elton after Elton’s private collection of Photographs included a little girl naked.
A photograph of two young girls owned by Sir Elton John and seized from an art exhibition is not an indecent image, the Crown Prosecution Service has ruled.
Comment: Let artists follow their instincts
The picture, by the American photographer Nan Goldin, was removed from the exhibition at the lottery-funded Baltic Centre, Gateshead, by Northumbria Police on Sept 20.edit
The disputed photograph, called Klara and Edda belly-dancing, shows two young girls playing in front of a kitchen sink.
One is skimpily dressed, the other is naked and lies beneath her, knees bent and legs splayed towards the camera.
She looks to be about 4 years old-my comment.
So this is who Rush supports.
Not posting the link to the pic too disgusting but here is a link to the article.

>> This Pope is a leftist who speaks like Obama.

The Pope is speaking in general terms about poverty and greed. Furthermore, the Pope is not advancing abortion like Obama.

I’m really not interested in an indepth discussion of capitalism, others may be. You say I am wrong about it is wrong to idolize capitalism, and that there is no such thing as “unrestrained capitalism”. Then I don’t know what you’d call the tapeworm stuff we have now. I’m not in favor of any kind of collectivism at all, so I don’t know why you brought that in.

Good point, fatima. And I say that as a Rush fan and listener.

I have no problem with the Church expressing its sense of fairness. It’s an opinion that has spiritual merit. But such opinions are only problematic when the iron fist of govt makes them law. The Founding Fathers spoke to this.

The habitually embarrassed Catholics and their fellow antagonists are seizing upon this trivial opportunity to express their displeasure with the Church. The complaints are fatuous.

Seriously?

When he instructed his disciples to "feed my sheep," you seem to think that he was talking about food, not manna.

You also seem to think that when he spoke of the poor, he spoke in a generic sense about material poverty.

No.

A psychologist wrote a paper on what she calls "pathological altruism." Many people believe altruism is the root of all morality, but fail to weigh whether the things done in the name of altruism benefit the recipient, or cause harm. They refuse to consider the question.

I believe that is true of the Pope.

Jeff, that's something I've wondered about for awhile. Allowing productive people to keep what they've earned is supposedly some kind of "trickle down economics."

Yet, we're told, in the way of Keynesian Economics, that we should give up what we've produced and earned, and that handing my earnings to someone else...to spend, I guess...is supposed to make me prosperous.

That sounds like "trickle down" to me.

Supporters of the Stalins and Maos are no more or less evil than anyone else?

Oh, they're evil, all right...small "e" not big "E" but evil nonetheless.

I'm amazed. What thinking, moral person could say otherwise?

...there are others who are well intentioned...

No. I refuse to grant absolution to those who promote a rancid and toxic stew which plainly punishes the virtuous and rewards the corrupt...did those who "preached the gospel, and cast out demons in your name," do any less?

Poison is poison...and the Nazi who helped other victims may be lifted a few rungs in hell, but he will surely go there.

When one starts playing God with the lives of others, as anyone who proposes to compel others to fulfill their idea of utopia...well, there's no clearer example of evil.

When the Pope himself spoke of the need to "restrain the excesses of the market" by government, he crossed that line, and no amount of good intentions will compemsate for the suffering he's responsible for.

I called what we have today progressive-fascism - hardly unrestrained capitalism. It is not about idolizing capitalism. It is about desiring freedom. Free market capitalism is the only economic system that offers individual liberty. No collective system does.

>Guess I’m just stupid.<

Is it really that hard to understand? Why else would the pope refer to Marxists right after Rush criticized him for saying things that sound like Marxism?
