In recent weeks Ive been asked to officiate at two weddings. Thats not all that uncommon. As a local pastor who has served in Kirkwood for over 10 years, I am privileged to help bless the marriage of several couples each year. What is uncommon, for this Baptist minister, is that these recent requests are same-sex couples.

I do this knowing it will make some people quite uncomfortable. It will make others angry. Very possibly I will lose some friends over this decision. But I genuinely believe that Christians generally, and Baptists specifically, should support the marriage of LGBT people. Moreover I believe the real pain of not recognizing the legitimacy of same-sex couples ought to be our real concern.

Uhhhh...no.
Avoiding the burning depths of hell for eternity is the real concern.
Bible first then mans law next.
Another wolf in sheep’s clothing.
What a moron. This guy shouldn’t be taken seriously if this is his rationale.
I had to read through it to see what flawed “reasons” were given. The author tried to say she was using biblical text, but failed miserably. It was all humanist tripe.
The purpose of marriage is to produce Godly offspring (Malachi 2:15).
There is no chance of that happening in a same-sex union.
This man is satanic. Should be sued for using the name ‘Baptist’.
Its message to those who, in abandonment of hope, define themselves by some sin, and present themselves as though they, as so defined, should have a place in the Church, is and only can be that of complete rejection. With respect to loving the sinner and hating the sin, which it indeed is called to do, what can it say to those who, in contempt of the saints who have fled their sins, declare their persons to be inseparable from the sin, identifying themselves with itand then blame the Church for hating them as persons? It can only say to them that all perversion of what it is to be human has been destroyed in and by Christ, who makes those who love him straight and whole after his own image. To some, this is the promise of life; to others, who have bound themselves to that which is to be destroyed, it is the intolerable threat of destruction.
Likely, this “Baptist” minister is, in reality, an atheist. Quiz these reprobate heretics even a little, and you’ll learn that they deny Jesus virgin birth, his miracles, his resurrection from the dead, even his very existence, in many cases. They just like the “idea” of God and Jesus, and try to use them to a political advantage.
When the two bulls in my neighbor’s pasture start romancing each other, I’ll rethink my position in this matter.
What about animal buggery? Should that also be recognized as sporting????
Anyone can call themselves a “Baptist”, look at Westboro
I know one scripture in particular that will “out” them:
“I am the way the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except by Me.”
Here appears to be one such person. He's far too well versed in Gay propaganda for it to be the recent epiphany he is presenting it as.
This guy believes that ‘gay marriage’ is possible, but since the state he is in doesn’t recognize them he has to travel out of state to perform these ‘gay marriages.’
I wonder if he would travel out of state to perform baptisms or actual marriages if the state he was in didn’t recognize those things either, or made them illegal.
Freegards
As opposed to not telling people the truth an putting their souls at risk? Lot more pain in that.
The Golden rule test? That is giving people what they want or what they need? If I'm on the path to damnation I wuld hope someone would pull me aside and gently rebuke me. Not endorse my folly. That is the Golden Rule.
Nah, he probably cannot be sued for using “Baptist” because anyone can use that. Look at Westboro. This is probably why they choose “Baptist”
Yeah, we see those people driving full speed toward a cliff...
but they look like they’re having fun. Who are we to judge?
That’s L.G.B.T.Q.I.A. This man is obviously a QIA bigot.
We conservatives ought to all start calling ourselves “liberals” and see what happens.
