There are false prophets, false teachers, and false Christs misleading people.
They should be treated with the same seriousness we treat people who slip razor blades or drugs in candy at Halloween.

Mark 13:22 But false Christs and false prophets will arise and will make signs and wonders in order to be deceiving if possible, the chosen.

meaning there are no more prophesies after the prophesies of Jesus Christ. Therefore the so-called last prophet Mohammed, as well as Joseph Smith and anyone and everyone until now, are not true prophets. Indeed there will not be a true prophet to come until Jesus returns. He warned us there will be many false prophets. He did not foretell of any true phophets to come just false ones. He said that he had already foretold us everthing there was to foretell.
Well that’s how I look at it, but I’m no Biblical scholar.

Jesus said that He was the Father.

Preaching a different Jesus, one who is a separate entity from the Jesus of the NT is preaching another Christ. Jesus is not the half-brother of Satan by God's union with His spirit wives.

How many Christian would do well to remember that if a person says that they are speaking in The Name of The LORD and it does not come to pass just as they said it would, that person is a false prophet. So many run after people who claim to be prophets who over and over are wrong in what they prophesy. False prophesy is not a little matter but is hated by The LORD. Those that said that they were speaking in His Name and proved to be false were to be put to death.
Deuteronomy 18:22
“But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken? In that group you can add Islam’s Mad Mo and Ron Hubbard. They all started a religion with the idea of personal sexual gratification, greed, and other Earthly desires. False prophets? They were not prophets but con-men.
When the scriptures talk of false prophets I can’t seem to include these scam artists any more than I can a guy at a bar sweet talking a drunk woman to have sex with him.
As far as being dangerous, of course they are. They hurt or killed many people and still do so today.
When we look at Jews, Christians and other non-violent religions we see their focus on God and doing right to others. They don’t teach violence to others or about Earthly desires. They don’t teach pedophilia, rape, polygamy, murder, or violence to enforce obedience. They don’t have secrets or require cash to get ahead in their “church”. They don’t require members to recruit in order to gain favor with the “church”. They are inclusive, not exclusive. They accept all who accept their faith. Christians don’t even require a church or a leader. One can be a Christian simply through acceptance of Jesus as their savior. No church, money, sex, or givings of any kind required.
