Husband Michael to Do Some Image-Polishing

Watch out! Terri's husband, Michael Schiavo, is going to be making the rounds of the national press during the next week. The purpose of this is to portray Michael as and reinforce his image as the victim of unfair attacks, and as being solely motivated by his deep care for Terri and his desire to carry out her wishes to be killed.

The first stop of this train will be his appearance on Monday night's "Larry King Live" show. Larry King is slotted to have Michael on for a full hour, unopposed by anyone from the Schindler family. I think that I can safely predict that this will be a virtual love-fest between Michael and Larry. No similar invitation has been extended to the Schindlers, which seems to me to demonstrate where he is coming from regarding Terri. And, as the Most Intellectually Dishonest Media Personality In America Today [TM], he can be counted on to ask only fawning softball questions of Michael.

Michael has claimed to be in hiding due to death threats against him. This claim is almost certainly part of his effort to acquire a more sympathetic image. For a man in hiding, he is acting mighty peculiar: He has been seen in the last 24 hours at a local shopping mall and restaurant.

You can also expect, now that the ACLU and Euthanasia organizations have pledged to enter the fray on Michael's behalf, that the drumbeat portraying him as a victim and noble-minded humanitarian will only increase. They want to cast Terri's case as a "right to die" issue. To do that they will do everything in their power to portray Michael as the heroic figure, challenging us narrow-minded extermists who want to interfere with his "rights".

Michael's attorney, George Felos, has a well known affinity for the pro-Euthanasia movement. This movement's adherents have a fascination, one might almost say a fetish, with Death. They seek to widen the acceptable boundaries within which society will find death acceptable. To forestall that effort, we must be vigilant against their attempts to coopt the language of rights and compassion.

It started to strike me a few days ago that this guy was a cross between Governor Moonbeam and Dr. Death. In fact, I can hear him start his day with his usual chat with God. George: "Why are we all here?" God: "Because you're not all there, George."

Yesterday, somebody posted the Hemlock Society web site because George is in the forefront of that movement. I went to check out their web site and the "images" page was entirely devoted to photos of Dr. Death -- Jack Kevorkian.

A thread this afternoon (about Islam) used "Flight of the Moonbats" in its title. That cracked me up. And reminded me of George. Can't you just see him up there flitting about with flocks of Media Moonbats? :-)

Yes, so at the time she wrote the letter she was aware the paper might publish her name and address and means of contact. It was ok then. Why is she now "publishing" it here but unwilling to be named?

Graymatter, please go back shortly after post #27 from sweetliberty and read what the poster (sweetliberty) has said about just who deleted her name.

I just got home from work and already I know who deleted her name, just by reading a little further.

Yes, I see it, but not on the earlier post #27. Sweetliberty was right to be prudent, it is Kathleen who should either publish the letter with her name, or not.
I have reservations about putting this info out at all, name or not. Mud often splatters more than its target. The child might be hurt, we might look mean-spirited, the Schindlers likewise. It could backfire, even if it's true.

I'm caught up now. I agree that Glenn Beck will get that letter out there if it's wise to do so, and he'll know how to protect Kathy and how much protection is legally necessary/desirable.

I'm sickened that Dr. Laura can't see which of her precious Ten Commandments applies in this case, and act accordingly. I guess the homosexual activitists who worked to silence her last time scalded her too deeply, and she's lost her nerve.

I disagree with your contention that this may not be the opportune or prudent time to disclose this information.

I suggest that corroborating evidence be obtained by Kathleen regarding the existence of the child MS fathered while married to Terri prior to day she sustained the injuries resulting in her current condition. Once that evidence is compiled, verified and re-verified, Kathleen's original letter to the newspaper should be disseminated for public review. The name of the child should not be included, just as it was not included in the original letter. However, once the information has been made public, MS can take the opportunity to affirm or deny the allegation as he sees fit. There would be absolutely no need for him to reveal the name of the child either, but it would be much more difficult for him to deny the allegation understanding Kathleen and her attorny(ies) can fully substantiate her claim. The ball would be in his court.

In any event, the entire purpose of this disclosure would be to evaluate the state of the Schiavo marriage over a decade ago on the evening of Terri's unexplained collapse, and help interested observers formulate an opinion regarding the sincerity of MS' "love" for Terri then and now.

To Kathleen and all of Terri's friends and family: we believe Terri is a victim. She is in my prayers constantly along with her family. There are many of us who see clearly.

The only reason I say this shouldn't be buried is because as the malpractice trial, Schiavo presented the "loving and caring husband" act. If he shows that even before her "collapse" that he was anything but, then they have something.

Where someone is appointed a guardian, spouse or not, that person's character and past behavior in regards to the person he is supposed to be "guarding" is very much relevant, especially when their is a history of deception.
