Brand New Opportunity for Paul Begala!
February 10, 2003
"This Space for Rent!" That message may be coming to a forehead near you, according to a news story that might present an opportunity for Paul Begala. Should the Crossfire gig not work out - or should the Democrats implode and be beyond the scope of being helped by his "good advice" - this could be a lucrative new gig for him.
Reuters reports from London: "More universal than television, livelier than billboards -- London marketing whiz kids have hit upon a new advertising medium: the human forehead. In a national British campaign to be rolled out in coming weeks, marketing agency Cunning Stunts said on Friday it was about to start renting advertising space on the foreheads of university students." Well, hell, folks! We have the biggest forehead in the world at our fingertips!
Can you imagine the Begala forehead as a billboard? "The idea came when we realized how much coverage students gained in the newspapers during recent demonstrations over debt," said Cunning Stunts' Nikki Horton. (You know, you have to be really careful when you say that name.) "This is a new way for them to supplement their meager income but it's also the new advertising medium: the forehead."
Can you imagine Republicans, for example, renting Begala's forehead for a "Vote Bush" campaign? It's a possibility, and something I think Paul should look into. F. Lee Levin weighed in with a great idea for Begala. He said a motel chain should hire Begala to stand in front of motels with the word "vacancy" written on his forehead.
