A wife has been jailed after a judge deemed the abuse of her husband "the worst case of controlling and coercive behaviour" she had ever seen.
Sheree Spencer, 46, would repeatedly threaten to go to the police claiming her innocent husband, Richard Spencer, 47, was abusing her throughout their 20-year marriage. She would even scream for help from their home near York to try to back up her story and trick neighbours into thinking it was true, reports the Mirror.
Sheree was only jailed after Richard's friend found nanny cam footage of the abuse and sent it to the cops. The shocking videos, which includes one in which Sheree is holding a knife to her husband's throat, have now been made public.
Richard is set to tell his story in a documentary for Channel 5, My Wife, My Abuser: The Secret Footage, which will air on Monday
Officers received a total of 36 videos, nine audio clips and 43 photos of injuries as evidence in the case.

Over the years the attacks worsened in severity and Sheree would spit on him, lock him out of the house and stab him with forks. Once she even struck him with a wine bottle so hard it permanently disfigured one of his ears.
Richard added that his wife, who worked as a senior project manager for HM Prison and Probation Service, would also control him financially. Sheree would make him take out loans in his name to pay for nice holidays, but Richard said they were living beyond their means.
He got into £45,000 worth of debt and said Sheree would often not contribute to bills as "punishment".

Sounds like an interesting documentary.
Guys who stay married to these woman usually fear being alone. You can’t fear being alone, even if that is probably what will happen, in order to break free from the abuse.
He should have taken the children and gotten out.
There is also the shame and embarrassment factor I think ...

My rule is the first hit is the last hit. It’s ok to argue and yell, but you don’t raise your hand against anybody.
I had a crazy lady like that once. I simply video recorded her while she was going nuts. She thought I was calling the police. Nope. No need for that. She was acting bad enough on her own so that someone else called 911. When the cops did show up I played the video. She was the one arrested
I can relate to feeling trapped by a crazy woman. Nothing like what this guy probably went through though. But still, I know the feeling. You just hope the evil side of them fades but it doesn’t.
And with social media crazy women like this hold threats over the man’s head “I’ll tell the world you beat me”. Ugly business. If you happen to have kids in a situation like this you’re royally screwed.
Yup. When mine wouldn’t let me leave I just filmed her blocking the door...phones are great that way.

Yes I know it took a friend to do this but he’s telling his story now

Another factor he had to consider is that if he left his wife, being a woman, could have been left with primary custody of the kids and facing an uphill struggle to even see them, never mind protect them from her rages.
You're right, but men could put and end to that now by supporting each other instead of laughing at this.
Of course, far too many men see these situations as an opportunity to be the heroes and score some action. Abused men have to contend with that too.

The “family” courts are shocking there is even a movement called “Fathers 4 Justice” who campaign against them and their bias
She was certifiably crazy and it didn't end well for her....

If that happened here in the USA he would still be in jail waiting for someone to post his bail.
