DES MOINES, Iowa, Jan 10 (Reuters) - Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he knows who he wants for his running mate in the 2024 race for president and that his commitment to the NATO alliance will depend on how Europeans treat the United States.
The frontrunner for the Republican nomination, Trump was asked by anchors at a live Fox News town hall who was under consideration for vice president on his ticket.
"I can't tell you that really. I mean I know who it's going to be," Trump told the gathering of Republican voters in Des Moines, Iowa, five days before that Midwestern state's first-in-the-country nominating context.

But will either of them help Trump in picking up independents, or even some of the very moderate Democrats (if there is such a thing)? Not likely.
We are going to need someone who can attract people other than just Republicans. Carson was mentioned, and I have a lot of respect for him and his accomplishments. But I think he's just too much of a professional and a gentleman. And again, I think he'd help Trump attract voters outside of the normal Republican base. Would love to see him in a cabinet position though...perhaps Surgeon General?

Intelligence is wonderful.. And isn’t always understood by others.
Dr. Carson was failing in school. His mother made him read.. And he discovered he could answer questions in school.. He went from being considered slow, to smart.

It should have been DeSantis who would have been set up perfectly for 8 years following Trump, but instead DeSantis stabbed Trump in the back and showed his loyalty to deep state Bush RINO neoCONs.
