CHICAGO — A man was shot and critically wounded near the Cermak CTA station overnight, steps from where a man was shot and killed last weekend, Chicago police said. And a suspect is in custody, thanks to an angry crowd that detained him after the shooting.
Chicago police issued a media statement saying the 31-year-old victim was shot during a fight in the first block of West Cermak around 2:08 a.m. Sunday. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the head.
Responding officers repeatedly called for back-up at the chaotic scene. Witnesses caught up with the suspected gunman and “kinda stomped him,” an officer radioed after the man was taken into custody.

In Argentina at one point, the government decided to “Defund the Police”, according to Fernando “Ferfal” Aguirre. Weeks into this awful experiment, good Argentinians took it upon themselves to deal with the rampant crime. They shot and hanged criminals, among other things, to such an extent that the criminals actually begged the government to bring the police back. The government eventually did.
I guess these crooks thought the risk of three hots and a cot in a 6x9 was preferable to being hanged in the streets.

Yes, midnight.
More than 50 years ago, my rule of thumb was "nothing good happens midnight." But, then I was frequently out after midnight to verify that my theory was correct.

Like Perseverando suggests, there are many things youre missing.
Youre going to just have to trust me on this, time is only relevant for amateurs. An experienced itinerant adventurer can get in trouble any time of the day will little effort.

We need to stop using the left’s rhetoric in describing people who fight back on crime.
Maybe vampires are actually a metaphor.
The left will now try to force cops to hunt down and arrest the folks who detained the thug for hurting the poor gunman, while lecturing the public about taking matters ino their own hands. They will be screaming about his rights and downplaying what he did and up-playing what the crowd did in response.
