I always drilled into my kids that nothing good ever happens after 2:00 a.m. :-) More than 50 years ago, my rule of thumb was "nothing good happens midnight." But, then I was frequently out after midnight to verify that my theory was correct.

Like Perseverando suggests, there are many things youre missing.
Youre going to just have to trust me on this, time is only relevant for amateurs. An experienced itinerant adventurer can get in trouble any time of the day will little effort.
