I ain't doing it.
Very high turnout so far in my district. It’s a small district, but so far have been as busy (or close to) as busy as a presidential election so far.
Absentee ballots were higher, usually pre pandemic we usually were in the teens to twenties absentee cast. This time we have had 40ish cast absentee.
So I would say we are going to have a high turnout election based on the first 2 hours.
Read into that what you will.
Ballot doesn’t have much, Senate, Governor, House and state house and a referendum on county council members being able to run for higher office without having to resign first.
My district is always one of the highest turnouts by percentage of voters every election in the county.
Gotta wonder who comes out on top - the ones who think Lurch is too totally ugly (regardless everything else) or the twits (male or female) who 'feel sorry' for him/it ?
Fester might run again in six years, but he might also die before then. I’ll vote for the latter.
word in from Maryland... all democrats have won. Not even close. thanks for playing.
I am in a Columbus OH suburb. Went at about 7 am. steady but not overwhelming. It is hard to compare to the 2020 election because of the covid slowdowns. We are probably a 50/50 dem republican area (Suburban Women). The good news is that the voting machine is new and what it does is generate a proper paper ballot. The voting machine does not count the vote it creates a paper ballot that then get placed into another machine.
It seems like a really good system.
Like I said I don’t know NY, maybe they do things differently, but in PA polls do not get the absentee ballots at all. We get a report who has cast them, so if they show up they are not allowed on machine, and if they received them but did not cast them so they can surrender the absentee and vote in person… but the actual absentee ballots that have been cast remain at the county. We never physically see them.
NY may handle things differently but after working the polls here for many years now, I can say a lot of the things folks who have never done so and think are worrisome are not.
“word in from Maryland... all democrats have won.”
Liberal Democrat incumbent David Trone could lose to the Republican challenger in congressional district 6.... but sadly he probably won’t.
No voting machines are good news.
Here in Virginia, the ballot is very light, since the state races (Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General and General Aasembly races were held last year. In my section of the 1st Congressional District, there are only two races on the ballot—the Congressional contest between incumbent Republican Rob Wittman and Democrat Herb Jones, and a Commonwealth’s Attorney race where the GOP incumbent is running unopposed.
With so few races at stake, I was surprised to see the parking lot of the voting site (local elementary school) was three-quarters filled when I arrived at 6:05 am (polls opened at 6 am). Suggests a heavier-than-expected turnout among GOP voters, which may improve chances of defeating Democrat Reps Elaine Lauria and Abigail Spanberger. Both are Pelosi sock puppets who need to be retired
“Counting machines” are bogus too.
My precinct in Decatur, Al was packed, way more folks than a presidential cycle.
News flash! Fox calls AZ and ALL the races for the rats this morn…no need to vote! Have a nice day!
That’s why the mods need to make an official on.
Could it be the abortion ruling is bringing out folk in Virginia? Don’t they lean more liberal and mostly women?
Well the polls aren’t even open in some places
Then again the polls never close in others….(Fulton County)
The bag had a large label on it.
BTW, anyone know if poll observers are supposed to be around during polling hours in NYS?
All we saw were poll workers.
Just ran across this from May...
We held a recount of the unofficial polling place survey results and it appears you ARE doing it.
I think you just did...
