I swear that I’ve read vaccine apologists make the argument that we cannot trust African Covid data because they are a very poor continent and their record keeping is not as good/accurate as the more developed countries ( like the USA ).

The use if HCQ has been widespread in Africa for years for malaria.
the vast majority of people that have died from covid, are elderly and/or with co-morbidities.
The average life expectancy in Africa is almost 20 years lower than in developed nations - so if they don’t have a large elderly population I would assume that would play a part in why their death rates are lower.
They simply don’t have many 80+ year olds alive to kill off.
In sub-Saharan Africa, the populace takes prophylactic HCQ for malaria and Ivermectin for river blindness. Corona viruses don’t stand a chance, so no “pandemic” to report. (But watch out for monkeypox; it could be the source of our next hysteria.) Yes, pharmaceuticals’ profits are also a factor, but they’ll gladly provide the clot shot if Western do-gooders will pay for it.

Given the lack of testing and healthcare in most of Africa how would they know?
People who routinely deal with Ebola, Dengue Fever, Sleeping Sickness, Yellow Fever, malaria, Lassa Fever, Marburg, cholera, and etc. aren’t even going to notice something as trivial as COVID.
I cannot disagree.
However, I probably wouldn’t be anywhere near as refined and polite as you were in calling it like it is. :-)

Africa has so many *other* exotic diseases that Covid was probably nothing more than a blip...a statistical anomaly...in their overall mortality picture.
