It took me 3 hours to finally hear this on a replay of a news conference on Fox news. How many Freeper's have dramatically altered their life to work on mindfulness? Am I uniquely naïve for wondering this?

I wonder what the news coverage will be like here in the Houston area. She lives in the area and the NBC affiliate station has been non-stop Simone Biles once they started hyping the Olympics. I doubt they are saying much about it (I wouldn’t know because all I can stomach of the news is traffic & weather).
Problem is that you don’t realize she is part of the “woke” problem.
She’s 24 and probably not highly educated because she spent her entire life training intensely
Her focus and desire have cracked because, as she’s admitted, pressure of the situation, long-term injury, and realizing her body can not give us much as even 5 years ago. She’s realized she’s no longer at her peak and will not win
So she’s backing out and relying on the automatic cheap slogans of our present day society, just like she went cheap “woke” before.
Its not a good situation - I feel bad for both her, and her teammates
I think we used to refer to the condition as: The Choke.
My impression of her is that she’s not racial, so I would be surprised if she started spouting racial rhetoric. I haven’t heard her say anything along those lines.
Probably something like that. Gotta give all those other countries a chance instead of the big bad USA.

To be honest, the media coverage treating her like she’s some sort of goddess has got to be setting an impossible standard in her head. The bigger they are, the harder they fall as they say, and she’s got to be terrified of being anything less than perfect, and nobody is perfect.
MY QUADRENNIAL PEVE: Something that is subjectively judged in order to achieve and ordinal ranking of contestants is not a sport and has no business in the Olympics.
