Shock poll: Trump 'Patriot Party' would win almost quarter of voters, drop GOP to third place
Just the News ^ | January 25,2021 | By Daniel Wattenberg

A Trump third party could provoke a pivotal realignment in American politics. With the support of 46% of registered voters in the new poll, Democrats would reap the benefits of a fractured opposition and entrench themselves as the nation's dominant party — even without majority support.

Among "very conservative" voters — who make up a disproportionately large bloc within the Republican primary electorate — a Trump Patriot Party crushes the GOP 55%-24%.

Should Trump remain in the GOP, his wide lead among these highly motivated voters affords him great leverage to influence the direction of the party by wielding the threat of conservative primary challenges against establishment Republicans ill at ease with the former president's combative brew of conservatism infused with populism and nationalism.

I think this is all likely a classic Trump leverage move. The GOP sees that Trump can destroy their party if he wants and if they aren’t nice to him he’ll do it. That’s the stick. The carrot is that if they did treat him well he’ll stay in the GOP and help them. But not if they keep up efforts to help Dems label him a treasonous pariah.

They’re gutless, career politicians who don’t want to risk their gravy train. It’s that simple.

Which is why I've advocated TERM LIMITS forever. Limit them to two terms and those seeking only personal gain are likely to look elsewhere. Those who choose to SERVE will do so for their allotted time, then have to go back and live under the laws they passed. Too many of those "servants" have morphed into masters.

So your goal is to defeat the GOP? And come in second to the Dems?

Third party is not going to happen. You don’t tell 75 million folks that they have to move. We know the lessons of a third party.

After the GOP disappears, Kommie Harris and the quad will become dictatorial rulers. Democrats dream come true to splinter the opposition.

This looks like a dem/lib set up to split the republican party. Then a win win for the dems.

The only mystery to me is why this is a shock.

It’s not BS, it’s just simple math. If there is a viable Patriot Party and a still viable GOP they will cannibalize each other and Democrats will dominate like they haven’t since the Great Depression.

It looks to me like a Trump negotiating tactic. If the GOP holds the line and sidelines/punishes some people like Romney, McConnell and other RINOs, the party stays a plan only. If it looks like they are all business as usual back stabbers, then take the poison pill and live with Dem control until the GOP is just a bad memory. We may not ever really recover from that, but it may not make any difference at all with the current DEM bill to make fraudulent elections the norm, making DC a state, etc. But, then at least you could maybe punish some RINOs while you wait for your government check in a bread line.

Of course they would. Duverger's Law is alive and well--as long as we have "first-past-the-post" elections for Congress and for Presidential electors, we will have a two-party system. A new "Patriot Party" will either replace the Republican Party, fade to irrelevance within a cycle or two, or will never be relevant in the first place. With Trump wisely and quickly backing off of the idea, my money is on the last.

I think what would probably happen if something like this occurred would be the folks like Romney would go ahead and move to the dems as that is where there heart truly lies. In the meantime the working class dems would move to this new party as it is actually pro-American worker. The dems avenue to national office in most cases already involves massive voter fraud so the loss of most of the rest of working class Americans could prove fatal to them. The key is the state legislatures. If they will investigate vote fraud, prosecute the guilty, and pass legislation to make elections legitimate, then America as we know it has a chance to survive.

We would never win again.

Will we ever win again anyhow? Absolutely not. And with traitorous wretches like Romney, Collins and the others, we shouldn't allow the GOP one more vote. Let it all go to hell. Then we have a fighting chance. Until then, it will ALWAYS be the same story. I spit on the GOP. Not one more vote. Not one more dollar.

The RNC asking for support is hilarious...I won’t ever support them again. There are others that crapped in their mess kit, like “Heritage and the Faith and Freedom Coalition who mailed me $1.00 with a big picture of Mitch McConnell!
I tore up his picture and will spend the dollar happily!
Not one of these orgs lifted a finger to question the results of the election. They accepted the cheating that was obvious and, to me, they are “never-Trumpers” and won’t get a dime from me.

And winning 23% of voters gets you ZERO seats in the House, Senate and White House and greatly increases the number of Democrat wins. But hey, Let’s Roll!

Making ALL national elections have a runoff between the top 2 candidates (if no candidate received 50%) like Mississippi, or ranked voting like Maine, would make third party candidates viable while preventing them from playing spoiler. “Ranked” voting would give us faster results and reduce massive outside influence like happened in the GA runoff.

Exactly! Trump won. Who's in the White House? A new party won't change anything. Vote fraud is what we have to defeat.

A patriot party will lose with only a quarter of the voters, and the worst Democrats will totally takeover. Better to have a caucus that is strong enough to win Republican primaries than a futile attempt to teach the RINOs a lesson by electing Democrats.
