The Feds have no dog in this fight at the moment. The State must ask for help. If Federal law is violated the FBI or other Fed agency can step in but otherwise is is a State and local issue. In Oakland the Fed can go in full force since a federal employee was killed.
Killing a federal officer in Oakland takes these recent events to a new level. President Trump can’t clearly or simply order the MN National Guard to use deadly force to protect private or even public (state/city) property in Minneapolis, Portland, Oakland or Atlanta etc. from being looted and burned, but he can surely do so when it comes to federal property. I’d like to know what ROE he’s discussing with the DHS when it comes to protecting federal property and installations, as for example, every Federal Building in every downtown across America.
We have become such a nation of emasculated PC pussies that the simple wisdom of the ages is now unspeakable. Looters will be shot, period. If you are holding a Molotov Cocktail during a riot, lit or unlit, you are fair game for a bullet from anybody, LE or a civilian protecting his property.

The events of the past few nights are also a solid endorsement of the 2nd Amendment, including the right to own semi-auto rifles with any capacity magazines you prefer. No liberal can, in the future, ever say you don’t need guns, because the police will protect you. NOW is the time for Biden to show his leadership abilities. He should go out into the crowds and persuade them to all go home peaceably. If he talked Corn Pop, a notorious gang leader, into a peace treaty and made friends, he can do it again. Who all is in favor of Biden facing the crowds, with no Secret Service protection - a sign of weakness, and convincing them to just go away and let the courts do their work?
