President Donald Trump has demanded the presenter of NBC News' Meet The Press, Chuck Todd, be fired after the program admitted to 'inadvertently cutting short' a sound bite from Attorney General William Barr when responding to a question about the dismissal of charges against former national security adviser Michael Flynn.
Late on Sunday night, Trump tweeted: 'Sleepy Eyes Chuck Todd should be FIRED by 'Concast' (NBC) for this fraud. He knew exactly what he was doing. Public Airwaves = Fake News!'
The president's tweet came after the Department of Justice slammed the Sunday morning news program for deceptively editing the clip.
NBC later apologized for the poor editing on Sunday evening admitting that the clip Todd had played was 'inadvertently and inaccurately cut short'.
The clip NBC played showed CBS reporter Catherine Herridge asking Barr how history might view his efforts to dismiss charges against Flynn.
'Well, history's written by the winners. So it largely depends on who's writing the history,' Barr replied.
Todd then added he was struck by 'the cynicism of the answer. It's a correct answer. But he's the attorney general. He didn't make the case that he was upholding the rule of law,' Todd reacted. 'He was almost admitting that, yeah, this is a political job.'
However in an extended clip, shown in full by CBS News, Barr is seen responding with further justification of his actions

If the network has no standards other than to lie about Trump, then they won't fire people who also have no standards and hate Trump. The media is one big anti-Trump campaign organization in cahoots with the Dems.
Boycott both CBS and NBC “news” programs until Todd is forced out along with the entire production staff, Mr. President.

NBC won’t fire Todd. They are well aware that their audience doesn’t care about ‘deceptive editing’ OR outright lies, when it comes to smearing anyone on the Right.

NBC news is the toy of the Roberts family that owns Comcast. Trump and his supporters have to deal with the Roberts family in a definitive manner. Todd is simply their toad.

Chuck Todd instantly humiliated himself by proving Bob Barr’s point about who gets to write the history. Fired? Maybe. Made a laughingstock? Absolutely! Fake news, indeed.

The media is more than just an anti-Trump campaign organization aligned with the Dems. Nearly all of them are part and parcel of the Dem machine. Somehow while average Americans were busy going on with their lives over the last 60 or so years, the Communists completed their long march through our institutions. In our time we are living with the result.
Good to see the President call this out - it gives it more legs in alerting more of the public to this dishonesty.
