This was the week everything broke.
First the DesMoines Register poll, an important bellwether for the crucial Iowa Caucuses, broke. Then the vote-counting process in Iowa broke. Then Democrats at the State of the Union broke.
More fantastically, though, after the historic address to Congress, the elite media broke.
When President Trump gave his State of the Union speech we were told it would be low key. Instead, it was a show for the ages, replete celebrations of heroes like Tuskegee airman, General Charles McGee, and Army Staff Sgt. Christopher Hake who was killed during his second tour of Iraq.

We deserve better.
Thankfully, alternative spaces for news and analysis are growing at a rapid rate, led by the podcast revolution. Perhaps that is the key to unbiased news and a less divided society.
This says so much about the state of journalism. A speech celebrating a vibrant economy, successes and sacrifices of ordinary people is dismissed as an appeal to Republican issues. If it weren't for the taint of socialism permeating the press and DemocRATs, they would recognize that the speech celebrated Americans and was really not political at all. That the left hates ordinary Americans could not be more obvious than with statements like Tapper's.
We’ve achieved “1984.”
The part that galls me is that these folks actually think they are superior to the “commoners”.
The very fact that they are doing what they are doing indicates to me that they have chosen the “easy” way in life and that most, if not all, have never faced real challenges in life or intellect.

It’s actually a Dylan tune but KWS does it better justice than Bob.
I can’t stand Dylan, too grating, too morose and sour, Kenny is fun to listen to.
Reading your #11 made me go back and read your #8.
IMO, you posted them in the wrong order.
Good editorial! They are right, it all goes back to the J Schools, reporters are not being taught the importance of being objective.
I saw an editor of the New York Times the other day, she was way too young to be editing anything other than a school newspaper.
Are there any notable conservative journalism schools?
My entire family, parents, sibling are liberal fanatical journalists. I am like Marilyn in the Munster family.
Well at least you are good looking..:)
I dont think so, but there shouldnt be conservative or liberal J Schools. There should be professors who make sure those youngsters understand that when the allow person bias to infect their work the become failures. If they can not report simply the facts, they should go get another job doing something that doesnt require personal integrity.
You can bet that the majority of those attacking Trump’s SOTU address had written their rants days before the event.
I should have ask,
Are there any notable conservative schools that teach journalism?
