Washington (AFP) - A nationwide Fox News poll released Sunday shows President Donald Trump trailing former vice president Joe Biden and no fewer than four other Democratic contenders as early campaigning for the 2020 election begins to gain steam.
A separate survey of battleground states, by CBS, shows Democrats strongly favor Biden as the candidate most likely to beat Trump in next year's elections.
The Fox poll showed Biden leading Trump by 49 percent to 39 percent among all registered voters nationwide, while Senator Bernie Sanders held nearly the same advantage over the president, at 49 percent to 40 percent.
Holding edges of 1 or 2 points over Trump -- albeit within the poll's 3-point margin of error -- were Senators Elizabeth Warren and Kamala Harris, as well as Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend, Indiana.
The polling comes more than 500 days before the November 3, 2020 election, an eternity in the political world. One widely viewed tweet this week shows five presidential candidates in recent decades who trailed at this point in their campaigns -- including Trump -- but who went on to win.

I don’t believe it for a second...but! but! supposing it’s true. Americans would deserve every bit of what’s coming to them.
I hate to spoil it for anyone but we’ve seen this movie before and know how it ends: Trump wins.
“Statewide” = statewise.
That's another reason behind these fake polls. To derail Trump's agenda such that the polls become a self fulfilling prophecy.
Polls? I bet no one here was called?
What an array of misfits calling themselves Democratic candidates. The only thing they have in common is they are rich, under intelligent to the point of stupid, overly egotistical, and filled with great pride. They think we (the registered voter) are dumbed down enough to believe these polls. After all, they do.
Why would anyone pay any attention to polls after the last election......Pollsters dont know anything....despite computers and complicated algorithms, the polls are inaccurate. .... people lie to pollsters because the pollsters are intrusive. ... because the pollsters also lietelling us they want information when they are actually push polling, which means asking questions and offering statements to manipulate our opinions. .....They are also frequently disguised attempts to extract contributions. So, we have this deal: We lie to them and they lie to us.
And all the Polls had Hillary in a Landslide!
Polls are slanted by the pollsters by using only a select few to poll and claiming it is a cross-section of the populace. No one has the time or inclination to gather a cross-section since all our information must be instantaneous today......Polls, to put it plainly, Polls are propaganda!
Simply not relevant. Don’t even know what the 2020 issues will be
President Carson!
” Since PDJT is trailing even Beto”
Now I’m worried s/ (eyes looking up)
Eh, just let them have something to celebrate like the polls showing President Trump getting defeated then watch for it.........2020 will be YUGE for the re-election of the Trump administration and God willing he’ll have the House AND Senate back in majority numbers. People are going to get tired of this crap and the blinders will come off as to how imperiled our country is if the radicals/Demonrats take over. I’m a true believer in Trump and this country and all in spite of the fact that we don’t have a media......;)
Polls are the domain of the left. They have needlessly terrified Republicans, and the Fox polls are among the worst. No Republican should ever participate in one.
A vote for Trump is a vote for Hillary! Vote Jeb!
So bogus.
Trump hasnt started to campaign yet.
And Hillary was going to win in a landslide.
Not all of us.
