Ocasio-Cortez wants you and your members to die, after she and her friends get your money. How stupid do you have to be, AFL-CIO? Pretty damn stupid, if history is any guide.

It isn't any more stupid or suicidal than the AFL-CIO's consistent endorsement of politicians who want to expand legal immigration and grant amnesty to illegals. What ever happened to union opposition to scab labor?

Who knows, perhaps with more loons like Ocasio-Cortez some union Democrats will see the light and bail from a party that's been stabbing them in the back for decades.

I saw on one site they plan to transfer auto workers to manufacture and install solar roofs.

Also electric trains, wind turbines, and sailboats.

Even if they invented a purely electric transportation system, oil for lubrication of moving parts would still be necessary.

They are stupid....................

For once I am agreeing with Richard Trumka, who is otherwise a thug. This GND will be a disaster for the American worker

Wow I guess there is quite a difference between a collection of people who want to be paid as much as possible for the work they do and people who want everyone to be paid the same whether they work or not.

Union thugs need to keep paying close attention to what has become of their party.

Sadly it's too late for my dad to ever abandon the Dems.

Obviously. No payoffs to the AFL-CIO leadership who regularly dumps all over their membership, their jobs, and their families they support.

Margaret Thatcher:

“The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”

But do AOC and Kamela think about/care about the future?

"The world will end in 10 years!"

So who will the unions be donating their multi-million dollars of campaign donations to in 2020 if the not the Democratic/New Green Deal party?

At least the Democrats felt they needed to offer Blacks a promise of reparations to keep them on the plantation. But apparently unions are considered so slavishly devoted to toiling in the Democratic cotton fields that they don’t have to offer them anything to keep them in line.

In 2016 money did not determine the result of the election. Dems need to worry about rust belt voters again.

To a certain extent I’m surprised by this. Wouldn’t the promise of rebuilding every building in America paid for by taxpayer funds excite at least the construction and electrical unions?

That’s odd. Invariably the unions go along with whatever crap the democrats come up with. Apparently the green deal is too much even for their rotten taste.

What good would Card Check do for them if there are no cars or trucks to manufacture or haul stuff?....................

They'll organize every other job that still exists. It's all about dues to them, not the industry. Hell, the Steelworkers are trying to organize college professors here.

Whatever you say...….

They know it would dry up their criminal operation.

For the AFL-CIO to speak out against this idiocy is a good thing.

“We welcome the call for labor rights and dialogue with labor, but the Green New Deal resolution is far too short on specific solutions that speak to the jobs of our members and the critical sections of our economy,” the AFL-CIO’s energy committee wrote in a letter to Markey and Ocasio-Cortez. “We will not accept proposals that could cause immediate harm to millions of our members and their families. We will not stand by and allow threats to our members’ jobs and their families’ standard of living go [sic] unanswered.”

The unions used to be the core of the Democrat base, but the Democrats abandoned them during the Obama years. Other than fake unions like the SEIU, unions are only an incidental part of the Democrat coalition now.

Petroleum products are also used in pretty much all battery production. Also, any vehicle running purely on electrical power needs to be light, and pretty much all organic structural materials other than wood, including all plastics and carbon fiber, are made from petroleum products. Plus I don’t know anyone who makes steel or aluminum without using a lot of fossil fuels—either directly or through electricity—in the process.
