Donald Trump: ‘The People Would Revolt’ If Democrats Tried To Impeach Me

President Donald Trump dismissed the notion that Democrats would try to impeach him, asserting that his supporters would revolt.

“I’m not concerned, no. I think that the people would revolt if that happened,” he said in an interview with Reuters on Tuesday when asked about the possibility of impeachment.

Trump did not appear worried, despite the ongoing Russia investigation and criminal charges against his private lawyer Michael Cohen.

Trump: People Would 'Revolt' If I'm Impeached

“It’s hard to impeach somebody who hasn’t done anything wrong and who’s created the greatest economy in the history of our country,” Trump said.

The president dismissed federal prosecutors who said that he violated campaign finance laws after his private lawyer Michael Cohen facilitated deals with two women who claimed an affair with him prior to the presidential campaign.

Trump suggested that Cohen was to blame if there was a violation of campaign finance laws.

“Michael Cohen is a lawyer. I assume he would know what he’s doing,” Trump said.

He cited his current lawyers who argued that he was not breaking the law.

Me: In this day and age, well-fed people do not revolt.
You: Those French guys in the yellow vests don’t look like they’ve missed many meals.

That’s a good point. I think that it all depends on how one differentiates between a “protest” and a “revolt”.

Protests can be violent, and they can bring down individual leaders. But the big picture remains the same. On the other hand, a revolt can change the fundamental order of things.

So if Trump is impeached (and I think that he will be), there will be protests. But there will be no revolt. Pelosi will remain as Speaker. And the Deep State will keep on rollin’, just as before.

Side note: I have no problem with Trump using the word “revolt” anyway. Because it speaks to the seriousness of the situation.

Nor was there any revolt when BOTH parties cooperated to violate the Constitution with the Kenyanesian Usurpation.

Barack Obama is NOT a natural born citizen.

You know, I’d be pretty frickin’ agitated if the democrats tried to impeach Trump, but I don’t need the president saying that I’m going to ‘revolt’ for him. That actually diminishes my inclination to over-react, which I wouldn’t do anyway. It’s really off-putting to hear self-serving marching orders like that.

Frankly, the reason not to over-react to impeachment is manifold.
First of all, the democrats only have the house. So they’d never get the Senate trail (just like Clinton didn’t) where the real teeth are.
Secondly, the democrats don’t have enough of a majority to win an ugly, nasty impeachment trial, but even if they did...
Third-off, this will show what blatant partisans and really turn the people off to the democrats, just like it hurt the republicans who went after Clinton.

Also, I don’t know exactly what Trump means by revolt. Maybe he just means “mob”. heh. But I’m no democrat, and so I don’t go into the streets burning things and accosting hold women in wheel chairs like they do.

Only kind of correct. Impeaching would piss off a lot of patriots, but attempting to remove him from office via successful impeachment would absolutely initiate a revolt against the government, and the left in particular.

They can push their luck only so far.

No they won’t, especially not the armchair warriors from FR.

I agree, conservatives or those who call them selves conservatives are not the type of people to revolt and raise havoc although maybe there are time they should.

As you said it is the scum who protest because they can not win on any thing that makes sense.

Yup.

We had a nice party earlier this year and several of my husband’s retired USMC friends said they’d go to war if the President were ousted in a coup.

It’s also a fairly common sentiment in this part of the world.

In 1775 a whole lot of people were sitting around the colonies saying “Pshaw! Revolt? Nobody is going to revolt!”

“You have no clue.”

Can you provide evidence to the contrary?

All I saw during the Tea Party protest were the equivalent of the pussy-hat wearing types. A bunch of unhappy loudmouths who packed up their tents and went home after the event, never to be seen and heard from again. Just like the Oppose Wall St. protest from the left, except they reorganized and turned into Antifa.

Where’s the conservative equivalent of that? Why are there no major players who can funding such an effort?

The left is beating us at every turn and purely because they’re much better organized.

Two minutes after the first session of the new congress starts, a democrat will enter a motion to impeach.
