The problem is that there could be a million reasons, ranging from “He’s buttering him up so that when the election is over, he can fire his assets” to “He’s figured out that Rosenstein really is the best firewall against Mueller.”

After all, if you believe Rosenstein, the corrupt Deep State officials were pressuring him to get on board, and he rebuffed them. I believe that you are correct...Rosenstein has criminal exposure including, but not limited to signing the 3rd extension of the Carter Page FISA application and "wearing the wire".

I also believe that President Trump has already had this discussion with Rosenstein a couple of weeks ago.

My theory is that President Trump wants to hear Rosenstein's plan for ending the Mueller witch hunt since Rosenstein is the only person that can end the witch hunt without talk of impeachment.
