After a brief lull, the hot summertime trend of protesting politicians over dinner is back in full force. Last night, a group of protesters tracked down Senator Ted Cruz and his wife at an Italian spot in D.C. and confronted him over Brett Kavanaughs nomination to the Supreme Court until the senator was forced to leave.
The restaurant in question has been identified as Fiola, an exceedingly pricey restaurant, which Washington Post restaurant critic Tom Sietsema has called the most glamorous place in the city to twirl pasta. But conservatives and supporters of Senator Cruz dont feel the same way apparently, and have taken to Fiolas Yelp page to voice their displeasure with a string of one-star reviews.

He's probably in DC for the imminent Kavenaugh vote.
Bad acts happened and where are the police?
This is a sitting U.S. Senator..... C’mon Jeff Sessions man-up.
If so, then yes.
One of the best ways to get back, is to have a rapid response team and follow the restaurant disrupters home. Take their pictures and reveal who they are. Do they have jobs? Would their employer like their activity? We know many are paid...who pays them?
Just saw some lib on Tucker that totally thinks Cruz deserved this because he’s a “public” figure and he threw in that Cruz was eating at an expensive restaurant so he deserved it for that too. He was obnoxious.
>Good lawd. That neck!!!! Puts Assad to shame.
A freakin human PEZ dispenser!
Terrible! Not what nature wants to maintain. How much choice did these women have to getting all ringed up like that?
Some parts of Man’s Cultural History need to be left soley for the history books. I include those too tight wooden shoes for Japanese (or Chinese?) women.
Chinese.
.
How do the women with these hideous neck rings sleep? What if they have an itch under the rings? How about passing through metal detectors?
You are absolutely correct.
If I were one susceptible to this kind of harassment, I would have my party and me carry noise cancelling headphones, a splitter jack and phones every time I went out.
When the jackasses show, don the headphones, connect to my phone and enjoy my favorite tunes. I would share my tunes with my guest and communicate via texting. Every now and then I would look at the deranged jackasses, smile and cup my hand to my headphone’d ear gesturing, “sorry, be louder I cannot hear you.” I would take as long as I could and would order the least expensive items on the menu every 20 to 30 minutes apart (would not consume them not knowing what the kitchen help might add).
Eventually, this would either cause the jackasses to go hoarse and leave or get violent in frustration (then it is on like Donkey Kong). The establishments clientele would either leave, complain or both. If they seem to be enjoying the show then I would know where they stand.
When satisfied I had screwed with these idiots sufficiently, I would leave without leaving a tip.
Regards.
How about reservations for Friday which take 90% occupancy made from one-time-use Skype accounts with 202 area code phone numbers which turn to be no-shows?
Regards.
Remember 96% of DC voted against Trump and are still throwing a temper tantrum.
Well they declared that violence is necessary. You would think that somewhere between DOD police, the secret service and the Capitol Police their wish could be granted.
LIke a Red Hen.
Just means we need a taller tree to hang him from
I really must remember your tactic! It’s actually a very good and proactive action. There is a really nice restaurant in our area that we no longer frequent because of the things we see on the net being done by employees around the country. I was really confused by my beloved’s reluctance to frequent the restaurant as we’ve gone there for a long time. Though I admit to being a paranoid person, I’m kind of slow on the uptake in certain areas of logic... so this afternoon it clicked as to why we no longer go to this restaurant... it’s a chain restaurant and he’s very leery of trusting all the employees. I know that around the country, more and more folks are less trusting of ... certain... employees... That said, it’s a bonus to all the other restaurants we frequent. LOL
“Right. Could of been a paying customer or someone on staff that put the word out that TC was in the house.”
I’m thinking staff. Especially if the senator used his or his wife’s name for reservations.
A downright SHAME Fiola Restaurant can afford glass insurance.........
‘You can bet’ is the equivalent of ‘supposition’, as betting is not involved on sure things, such as the sun rising tomorrow morning.
