By any reasonable account, the historic meeting between President Trump and Kim Jong-un, resulting in an agreement pledging to work toward a stable and enduring peace (over six decades after the Korean armistice was signed at Panmunjom) was an incredible achievement. In fact, had Obama or Clinton achieved as much, we would expect a ticker-tape parade down Fifth Avenue.
North Korea has agreed to completely denuclearize and has begun the process, according to reports of satellite imagery , and has agreed to return the remains of U.S. military who perished in North Korea.
China, long rightfully considered the muscle behind North Korea, seems to endorse the move, indicating that the summit creates new history: and urging full denuclearization.
Of course, given the past agreements with North Korea where we delivered on our promises and they did not, theres always room for Reagans trust but verify admonition, and yet there is every reason to believe this president gets that, and is not simply bribing Kim for yet another repeat performance of no tit for tat, relying on a supine press to ignore deals that really werent.
In fact, the usual press fluffers which hailed Obamas deals with Cuba and Iran, to name two recent Democratic foreign policy disasters, were bilious about it.
Ed Driscoll at Instapundit scrolled through NewsBusters for a decent example of the media backflips:

Clarice Ping!
At least this time, the MSM are being useful idiots. Their cries of “Trump gave too much ...” etc. are likely helping Kim sell the agreement back home (if Trump gave too much ... Kim got a good deal). Ticker-tape parades, and the like, might have soured the whole deal.
Great article!
I have been saying for months the same thing that the author and those he cited mentioned. President Trump’s actions have to be viewed in their entirety. ie... Slapping down the idiot Canadian Prime Minister was done partially for Kim’s benefit. The president has an overall strategy and slight of hand where the magician creates a diversion with one hand while he does something else with the other is definitely part of his operating procedure.
I was not sure if this was intentional at first, but a pattern has developed. The opposition still has not caught on. Even if they recognize it, they have no idea how to respond in an effective way.
I agree. For many that are not catching on I believe it’s because of their hatred of President Trump, they are blinded by it.
When I was young, the word was “vineyard,” not “vintage.”
Vintage doesn’t even make any sense, as it means “the wine from a particular harvest or crop.”
One might think of the grapes of wrath as being stored in a vineyard, but how could grapes be stored at a vintage?
BTW, there used to be a Confederate version of “John Brown’s Body.” There were those who asserted that this was the original, supported by the song’s clear link to spirituals, but I believe they have all died and their books have been “cleansed” from library shelves.
All that remains is oral history, passed down the generations, and easily mocked by those who wish to obscure the true lessons of the era.

In all the versions I could find the word is vintage, even when googling original lyrics for the Battle Hymn of the Republic.

Yes, I saw that too. Douglas Adams weird.

One could view it as literally trampling the grapes of wrath to make the vintage.
The vintage would then not be the place where said grapes were stored, but the product from those grapes being trampled in that place. It’s easy enough to confuse the two from the wording of the poem, however.
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of his terrible swift sword:
His truth is marching on.
This is saying that the Lord has let loose the dogs of war in righteous anger for the sin of slavery. Literally trampling out the vintage is taking action to squeeze the juice out of the grapes, to make wine. The second definition of the word vintage is relating to or denoting wine of high quality. Metaphorically then God is taking action, through the Union Army, to smite the forces wishing to perpetuate slavery.
The grapes of wrath have been stored, like a spring compressed and ready to spring, until shots were fired at Fort Sumter. Then God trampled out the wine, or vintage, of retribution which flow terribly like the blood of dead and wounded soldiers. Using the word vineyard would be wholly inappropriate.
“the association makes little sense for confederates to use it”
Well, they did. That’s a fact.
Perhaps you’re thinking of those passages in the Bible where slaves are encouraged to rise up and slay their owners.
“Using the word vineyard would be wholly inappropriate.”
Opinions, it would seem, vary.
“Well, they did. Thats a fact.”
Because you say so?
No one tramples on a vineyard, other than vandals or a herd of elephants, and clearly neither of those fit the meaning. They do trample on grapes, at least in traditional winemaking technique. People do so to "trample" on grapes to squeeze juice for fermenting into wine. In the narrative of the song the Lord is producing a result as well. War, in this case. As in “He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword.”
Furthermore, as has been pointed out to you, within the words “He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored” “where" refers to the second half of the line, not the first. Thus the meaning is “He is trampling out the vintage at the place where the grapes of wrath are stored.”
It's quite obvious.
“Soon, though, a new version appeared that hitched the old tune to a more militant cause. When the abolitionist John Brown was executed in 1859, someone created a new, fiercer set of lyrics; the song now declared that “John Browns body lies a-mouldering in the grave. His soul is marching on!”
By the time the Civil War began in 1861, the John Brown version of the song had spread throughout the Union army. Soldiers added new verses as they marched through the South, including one that promised to hang Jefferson Davis, the president of the Confederacy, from a tree. Meanwhile, Confederate soldiers answered back with their own version, in which John Brown was hanging from a tree.”

Just as I stated. The only way secesh would sing a version would have been in response to Union forces.
