One person was killed in a stabbing attack in the Opera district of central Paris Saturday night.
At least eight people were stabbed in the attack, and one victim is reported dead. At least two of the victims are reported to be in serious condition and are receiving first aid.
Eyewitnesses told police that the stabber shouted, "Allahu Akhbar!" during the attack.
Police forces eliminated the stabber, and are investigating the incident.
According to a report by the BBC, witnesses said police officers initially attempted to neutralize the attacker with a stun-gun, but after it failed officers fired two rounds at the assailant, killing him.

Authorities confirmed they may never know the reason behind the attack. “Truly elusive and mysterious” said one liberal politician who prefers anonymity.
Clearly, untreated mental illness. Poor soul.
Was the victim stabbed with an AR-15?? If not, it isn’t really a murder.
It’s only a “suspected stabbing,” then.
The stabbing is only “suspected” and more to follow. Of course the victims would say they were really stabbed and there is no “suspected” about it.
I’m sure the police are also unsure of a motive for the attack.

What were the clues that lead the media to call it a "suspected" knife attack?
Knife wounds? Maybe a bloody knife? Perhaps some witnesses who saw a knife?
