Rudy Giuliani’s account of Donald Trump’s role in the payment to Stormy Daniels has collapsed into near-incoherence.
In his latest interviews, the newly minted Trump lawyer has adopted a posture of impenetrable epistemological modesty — there’s nothing he knows about the case, or can possibly learn about it anytime soon. Giuliani retreated to this tack after directly contradicting the president’s denial of knowing anything about the hush money, and getting rebuked by Trump for being ill-informed and not yet up to speed.
It shouldn’t be this complicated. Getting their story straight would be much easier if they adopted a simple, nay simplistic, legal and political strategy — telling the truth.
Giuliani shocked the political world when he said last week that Trump had reimbursed his fixer Michael Cohen for the payout to the porn star. Rudy declared that this made it a private transaction, and therefore it couldn’t be a campaign-finance violation. Case closed.
But the legal reasoning wasn’t airtight — if Cohen made the payment to influence the campaign, it didn’t matter if Trump paid it back or not — and Trump wasn’t ready to endorse Rudy’s version of events.
By this past weekend, the former New York City mayor was on This Week on ABC News, incapable of saying much of anything at all. Had, George Stephanopoulos asked, Trump met Stormy Daniels? “It depends,” Giuliani replied, “on kind of what you mean by met her, right?”
When did Trump first learn Daniels asked for payment? “Don’t know and doesn’t matter to me.” Stephanopoulos pointed out that Giuliani told the website BuzzFeed that Cohen complained to Trump about not getting paid back after the 2016 campaign. So, the president knew about the payment after the campaign?

The truth is that she went to Trumps team, threatened to state that she'd had an affair and took money in exchange for silence. We can't know if Trump really did sleep with her, but it's clear that she blackmailed him with a threat of an accusation.
Blackmail. Extortion. Shakedown. That's what she does and who she is.

For decades, he’s been known to call into radio shows under a fake name, and plant negative stories about himself. It’s partly to entertain himself, partly to cultivate name recognition, and partly to control a narrative for purposes of distraction. Mostly though, he does it to bait traps for the fake news, so that he can discredit them time and time again.
Trump has repeated this manuever countless times, and has almost singlehandedly reduced the MSM fake news outlets, such as CNN, to rubble.
It is fun to watch. I think Trump is having fun with it.
If Stormy Daniels fades from the news for a couple days - you can bet DJT will tweet something about it, or send Rudy Giuliani out to go “off script”.
Similarly, if Russia/Mueller witch hunt meme is ever pushed off the front page, you can bet Trump will make another “I’m so disappointed in my DOJ” tweet or perhaps another “witch hunt!” tweet.
Then a bunch of concern trolls on FR will worry that someone should put a muzzle on POTUS for his own good.
Fat chance thar will ever happen - Trump knows exactly how to work the press like a sock puppet.

I watched the George Stepinapotofpuss interview. George was a pitbull going after Trump about this monumentally important (/s) topic.
Hey George, NOBODY CARES! In fact, instead of laughing it off, Rudy, you should point out how unimportant and ridiculous this story is compared to all the YUGE things Trump is DOING!
He did this a little bit, but mixed in with the laughter, it got lost.
Trump should NEVER admit to this trist. NEVER!
Why? You ask? Because if he talked about grabbing women by the pussy AND had an affair with a PORN STAR, then of course the sordid facts in the Steele Dossier MUST BE TRUE. THEN, the rest of the Dossier must be true and Trump colluded with Russia and MUST BE IMPEACHED!

Ignore it. Deflect all questions to important things like Iran, China, North Korea. Mexico, The Wall, the economy, jobs, trade, unemployment/employment, GDP, 1st amendment, 2nd amendment, 4th amendment, government corruption at the highest levels, and FAKE NEWS.
The questioner will look like an IDIOT focussing solely on National Enquirer subjects while the president and his spokesmen (YES, spokesMEN, it’s a word, already meaning EITHER a man or a women) focus on truly IMPORTANT subjects.
“George (or whoever), I know all you want to talk about are these, in your mind, salacious topics, but the president and our nation have many much more important items that we are continuing to focus on.” (Give example or several from the list, or the whole list!)
When they go back to the tabloid questions, you go back to the IMPORTANT topics and accomplishments that the American people really care about.
The interviewer will look petty and partisan, which of course, they are. Let’s put that on display, eh?
No one cares about Stormy. No one cares who had a fling or not with anyone a dozen years ago. If it was truly such a horrendous act, then why wasn’t there a special council over Soetoro’s homo bj with Larry?

Whether it did or not, he annoyed many Republicans who reside on the Upper East Side and swathes of Queens and Staten Island who listen to Rush. Terrible ads, btw. That voice!

Nobody cares about whether Trump had consensual sex with a porn star 12 years ago. Those in the (fake news) media that keep pushing this story are “full of sound and fury signifying nothing”. Meanwhile, unemployment is shrinking, people have more money in their paycheck, and North Korea may soon cease to be threat. If the ‘rats and their media bitches want to waste all their airtime on Stormy Daniels, that’s their (poor) choice.
