UPDATE: Yeti says NRA’s claims are ‘inaccurate

Update: Austin-based Yeti says claims made by the National Rifle Association over the weekend are “inaccurate” and that the company is “unwavering in our belief in and commitment to the Constitution of the United States and its Second Amendment.”

In an email to its members, the NRA claimed Yeti “suddenly, without prior notice” indicated it no longer wished to do business with the NRA Foundation.

Not so, says Yeti. The maker of coolers and thermal mugs says the NRA has twisted its words.

“A few weeks ago, Yeti notified the NRA Foundation, as well as a number of other organizations, that we were eliminating a group of outdated discounting programs,” Yeti said in a written statement Monday afternoon. “When we notified the NRA Foundation and the other organizations about this change, Yeti explained that we were offering them an alternative customization program broadly available to consumers and organizations, including the NRA Foundation. These facts directly contradict the inaccurate statement the (NRA) distributed on April 20.

Exactly, this is their auto response email. The fact that they refer to “hunters” numerous times is all I need to see to know where they stand.

F*** YETI.

“Or Yeti is lying but that seems less likely.”

Why? The NRA isn’t getting destroyed on social media for turning against gun owners. If Yeti’s statement accurately represents what happened, why did it take three days to inform us? As hard as Yeti is getting hit on this, I am more inclined to believe Yeti is lying, or at least twisting facts. Their product is a luxury. When people say they won’t buy it, they won’t.

Well Yeti....let’s see your email or notification or memoranda sent to the NRA regarding this matter and we can judge for ourselves....

Why?

Because their claims would be very easy to refute. If the NRA refutes them then we'll know.

“eliminating a group of outdated discounting programs”

Translation - We want more money so you aren’t getting a discount anymore.

.......wardaddy, I hear you, but I’ve lived in Austin for over half a century. And, I can tell you that these Gen X Yeti owners you speak of travel each day in the upper echelon business and governmental circles of Austin and a large part, probably the majority, are LEFTIES. My own daughter flipped on me and voted for Hillary after marrying one of these “upper” folks.

To name a few of them...the uber left Sheriff, the County Government, Austin Government and so on. And, the YETI owners MUST get a long with them.

So, respectfully, I suggest we HOLD ON a while to see who comes out on top of this fuss........the NRA or Yeti. By, the way, my desktop Yeti is in it’s permanent place beside my keyboard as I type. My Hillary voting daughter gave it to me.

The NRA did. They stated in their memo Yeti refused to tell them why they were not going to sell to them. The ball is in Yeti’s court. Lets see the list of other organizations impacted. Lets see the letter they sent to the NRA telling them they wanted to change the way they interact. The NRA claims, Yeti refused to even sell to them. There is nothing in Yeti’s statement that suggests they support the NRA. Lets hear an explanation about why this information wasn’t presented last Friday.

My wife covered her Yeti mug with stickers from Ruger, Sig, Smith & Wesson and more. The Yeti label is fully covered. She had a surplus of stickers owing to her proclivities.

From another thread on this subject, a better and cheaper cooler is made in Idaho. Called Cordova.

I got two Yeti mugs from Dick’s a couple years ago. I Will be going through my sticker drawer.

I have a Yetti and it is a great cooler. Until Yetti makes it position on the NRA precisely clear I will not buy another Yetti.

No kidding, like buying a Range Rover when a Jeep will do.

I was looking at Jeeps a couple of months ago. I couldn't believe what they cost. I saw USED Jeeps for $30k. Still would like one, but would have to get a fixer-upper I think, because I'm just not willing to pay that much for a used car.

Yeti is trying to put the toothpaste back in the tube. We will need a lot of popcorn to get to the end of this movie.

So they did “quit” the “old” program for a new program that is not clearly defined. I remain skeptical especially since the they hired a mercenary CEO.
