Going to the Gun Range With Family Got These Students Suspended From School

ere's an outrageous story to end the week.

A pair of students in New Jersey were reportedly suspended, one for an entire school week, after officials saw they went to the gun range with family and posted a photo of the outing on social media. From NJ.com:

A New Jersey school district that allegedly suspended two high school students this week over a gun photo taken during a family visit to a private shooting range is facing community backlash and the threat of a lawsuit over district policies.

The photo of four rifles, ammunition clips and a gun duffel bag was shared by one of the students on the social media app Snapchat with the caption "fun day at the range," according to Lacey Township resident Amanda Buron, a family friend of one of the students.

A screen capture of the image made the rounds among other students and later brought to the attention of Lacey Township High School officials. Buron said the students received a five-day in-school suspension for violating the school's policy on weapons possession.

Not only do tyrannical, leftist school administrators believe constitutional rights end once students step onto campus, they apparently also believe they shouldn't be exercised freely outside of school jurisdiction.

Meanwhile, while the majority of media focused on high school students who walked out of schools in favor of additional gun control measures this week, a number of students around the country refused to leave their classrooms and held pro-Second Amendment rallies.

One student in Minnesota made a sign that read, "Guns don't kill people, people kill people, we all mourn together," and was was threatened with arrest by administrators.

A majority of people seem to have no sense of reason. They operate solely on the emotion of the moment.

The current national obsession is NRA/guns. The school obviously has lost all powers of rational thought, and is acting on impulse.

Same mental debility that is behind the hysteria over the Confederate flag, the “me too” crap and $hitting pants over Trump signs.

And their vote counts the same as mine.

Moral of the story: Keep your private business off the net!

Real moral of the story: Anyone still thinking that eventual armed conflict with these totalitarian internal enemy bastards is avoidable is more optimistic than I am.

Yeah, I’m curious as to just who it is that makes the call. Defamation law suit for declaring someone a nut bag when they aren’t?

One day in the near future, anyone with a gun will be deemed a danger. We’re fast sliding down that slippery slope. Sad to say, there are perks to being older. This isn’t the world I grew up in.

These things are going to break the bank of innocent people that have to hire attorneys to look after their rights.

That stinks. Not to mention that attorneys like these kinds of laws because they are good for business.

"It did not say who deemed this person that. Only that they took his four weapons from him."

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/fl-florida-school-shooting-guns-seized-lighthouse-point-20180316-story.html

The man was also taken to a hospital for involuntary psychiatric treatment under the state’s Baker Act. But the civil ruling removing his access to guns and ammunition was granted under the new legislation...

He got due process through a court under the long standing Baker Act.

The man told officers he “was being targeted and burglarized by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and a neighbor who lives in [his] building,” the judge wrote in his order. “[He] could not describe the neighbor but stated that the neighbor [can] ‘shape shift, he can change heights and I’m not sure where he comes from’ and ‘to be honest, he looks like Osama Bin Laden.’”

He also told officers that he had to turn off the electrical breakers because “they are electrocuting me through my legs.”

Officers said they saw weapons in his home after they were called to check on his welfare. They also found evidence he had “a voluminous amount of notes containing numerous references to former President Barack Obama, that he was killed in the 1980s but came back and now murders children to place their spirits into [the man’s] head, is a member of [al-Qaida], and is [the man’s] enemy,” the judge wrote in his order.

feel like I landed in an alternate world

That's how Leftists take over. Gradually and then suddenly.

Wait till they cheat & lie enough to win an election or two.

The changes will be swift, vicious and catastrophic.

This could be my family. My girls are shooting enthusiasts; they go to a range and take pictures.

This is one case perhaps justified. I can guarantee you that under leftist control this WILL be abused, and you should already know that.

I often think the same thing. I really cannot wrap my head around living without liberty, and with, totalitarian control.

Normally I’d agree with you...

but not today, not this time.

The students got suspended for a legal activity, under parental and likely expert supervision at the gun range.

Notice the over reach of the school rules as well, “on or off campus.” Since when does a school have the ability to rule/regulate constitutional activity beyond school business?

The action by Lacey Township High School officials against these students is why flogging of such officials should be legally prescribed upon conviction for violating the students’ constitutional rights.

In the meantime perhaps the lawsuits will gut the financial coffers of Lacey Township and the personal bank accounts of the high school commie officials

These public school employees really think they can make up whatever rules they want, even if they tread on the civil rights of the students. Just who do they think they are? They’re paid by the tax payer. They don’t own the kids.

I’m coming to the conclusion that the only thing government should have the power to do is provide oversight to private institutions and not be involved in any execution. Enable the competitive private sector in everything, the government employee only makes sure they’re abiding by the law and are competing fairly.

I would just post the pictures - without any statement mentioning school officials.

My point was, don’t do the suspension time in school where the school gets the benefit of your attendance funding.
