Conservative Actor Pushes Back on Demands for Gun Control in Wake of Florida Shooting

Conservative actor Adam Baldwin pushed back Wednesday as many on the left—from Hollywood celebrities to political leaders—called for gun control in the immediate aftermath of the mass shooting at a high school in Parkland, Florida.

“[Nancy] Pelosi again demanding gun control. Again, the shooter was stopped by people with firearms,” the actor tweeted.

“Schools need armed security and volunteer staff members with CCW,” he added.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi had tweeted that ‘enough is enough.’

“Too many of these instances take place across the country. As leaders, we have a moral obligation to prevent them and protect our communities. We need more than thoughts and prayers. #EnoughIsEnough,” she wrote.

Other celebs weighed in after the shooting, with comedian Chelsea Handler saying Republicans “have blood on your hands.”

“We have to elect candidates that are not funded by the NRA in November. We have an opportunity to elect candidates who won’t allow kids to go to school and get shot. It is disgusting how many times this has happened and Republicans do nothing. You all have blood on your hands,” she said on Twitter.

“No words, no actions, no laws are enough until we end this epidemic of school shootings in our country. My heart is with the students and parents of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School,” Ellen DeGeneres wrote.

Writer and producer Beau Willimon also blamed the GOP.

“When Will The @GOP Stop Being OWNED By The @NRA And FINALLY Do ANYTHING About #GunControl? Never. Their thoughts and prayers mean nothing. We must replace them all,” he said on Twitter.

“You want taxpayers to spend $25 billion for a wall that will do virtually nothing to keep us safer. Meanwhile you and your party take money from the @NRA to prevent common sense #guncontrol reforms that could actually save lives. Shame,” he responded to President Trump’s tweet expressing his condolences.

Liberal douchebags believe in the all knowing and powerful politician. They think they can fix anything with a stroke of a pen. The crazed shooter would have been stopped cold by liberal morons screaming in unison, enough is enough.

Adam Baldwin, as other posters have mentioned, is in no way related to Alec Baldwin or the rest of that family.

Adam Baldwin was in the original “Independence Day” movie, playing an Air Force office at Area 51.

I wasn’t there, so I wouldn’t know. You have to admit he is right though. Also it depends on where the police officers were at the time of the shooting.

“Take the illegal guns off the street”

That’s liberal dog whistle for “take legally acquired guns from the homes and hands of their rightful owners”.

"I understand there were two armed police officers on the grounds at the time of the shooting."

I'd like to see verification of that, because if true it would be unusual.

We hear all of the same arguments from both sides after every one of these shootings. But I think perhaps the most valid observation is that most mass shootings seem to occur at schools and other "gun free zones."

Answer...A system of ceiling tracks that allows a taser box device
to be deployed instantly anywhere on the floor level. Computer controlled with cameras. A person at control center can get instant info, computer aimed and darts fired on command.

By the way, I forgot to put a smiley-face at the end of my response to you.

If gungrabbers want an immediate conversation on gun control, I suggest conservatives need to insist an immediate conversation on mental health, AntiFa and domestic terror groups, and how almost every mass murder in the US is executed by leftist radicals...

How did he enter the school with the rifle in the first place???

With two security officers present, all doors excepting two, which are watched by the security, should be locked with only egress possible...

Every time I hear or see an anti-gunner talk about banning guns (because guns cause violence, according to them), I have one of two responses:

1) So then why don’t you see mass shootings at gun shows or police stations?

or

2) So then how does anyone get out alive from a gun show?

They never have an answer.

You have to admit he is right though. Also it depends on where the police officers were at the time of the shooting.

Modern high schools tend to be big campuses so it's entirely possible that the police officers were at the other end of the grounds from where the shooting began. But that's going to be true of any security. Unless you have armed guards on every corridor or every classroom then there is no way to say that armed security could prevent, or even discourage, something like this from happening.
