S.E. Cupp Says She Was Sexually Intimidated by Coworkers... and a SENATOR
PJ Media ^ | 10-26-2017 | Michael van der Galien

Posted on 10/26/2017 11:06:42 PM PDT by Michael van der Galien

On Thursday night, conservative commentator S.E. Cupp devoted her entire one-hour "Unfiltered" program on HLN to talk about sexual harassment. She recalled three experiences of her own that make clear that the #MeToo movement certainly is of value.

Although she said she could've gone on for hours and hours with dozens of examples, Cupp decided to keep it short by giving "just" three. "One," she said, "an anchor grabbed my ass." Some men may think that doing so is "funny," but if these stories make one thing clear, it's that to women, it is anything but. It frightens them and truly makes them feel violated -- which, of course, they actually are.

In another story, and this is one that I'd like to know more about, she says that she was on set with a senator who literally grabbed her thigh under the table while on camera. When something like that happens, most women are truly in shock, which is why it takes many of them such a long time to speak out about it. It would've been best if she had responded instantly -- on camera, with everybody watching -- but that's simply too difficult for most people in such an unexpected and humiliating situation (being sexually harassed makes one feel less of oneself!).

Still, though, now that time has passed, I'd like to know who this senator is. The #MeToo campaign is incredibly important, but only if it's accompanied by actually naming and shaming men who sexually harass women. Just saying "I have been sexually abused or intimidated" isn't sufficient. We need to know who displayed such unacceptable behavior so they can be chased out of the Senate -- and the media.

SE Cupp dresses to look not just attractive but sexy. That is part of her on-air persona, but it is also irrelevant to this conduct. Grabbing a woman without permission is inappropriate. Looking and enjoying her beauty is intended, but that is as far as people should go.

Thank you for some reality on SE Cupp. She’s a conservative as much as Amanda Carpenter and Rick Wilson are conservatives. They loath Trump and it wouldn’t surprise me if they had their hands in the Trump dossier.

Women who sell themselves as sexual objects shouldn’t be surprised when they are treated as sexual objects. I’m sure she made some money; that is what whores are paid for. I wouldn’t defend inappropriate touching; I wouldn’t be surprised by it either.

There are plenty of real victims of sexual harassment (of both genders); the entertainment industry (including this toy) has very few genuine victims. These “me-too” types exchanged access to their goods in exchange for jobs and money, and when they’ve banked enough decide to come forward? Sorry, not buying it.

Now that is a picture of someone who wants to be taken seriously; does this plaything really think anyone cares what’s upstairs in her brain? She was paid to play a part; deal with it.

In 1972 I bumped into a girl by accident in the hall way in high school. My fear is she’ll retaliate and accuse me of sexual misconduct....

Where does the BS end and why don’t folks say something when the problem happens!!

The problem with “naming names” is that suddenly the accused is guilty just based on the accusation.

This #metoo campaign is not helpful and may be doing serious harm to victims of sexual abuse. To put harassment on the same plane as assault, and to call bum touches assault as if it has the same significance as rape, is so wrong.

Since Cupp doesn’t mention the gender of the offender here, I’m guessing that the senator, at that time, was Hillary Clinton.

The case where the Senator grabbed her should have been turned from a problem into an opportunity.

She should have stopped the interview, turned to the camera, and said loudly and clearly that “I want to take a break here to report that Senator X is a total jerk. He may have found it amusing to grab ____ but I did not. This interview is over.”

You could say the same for most of these “me too” claims - but then the “victim” wouldn’t make money. There is nothing heroic about coming forward when you’ve made your money; in fact, she may have spared someone else later harassment if she’d made it known at the time.

We need some definitions. Is touching a woman’s finger sexual assault? By today’s standards it is. Looking at a woman is. Saying hello to a woman is. Absolutely, definitely, without a doubt saying “you look nice” is. How about shaking a woman’s hand? Sign of male patriarchy dominance?

But what bill clinton did isn’t. What muzzies do to women isn’t.

The fruits of radical feminazism.

To me, this is strong evidence that the thing never happened. Her memory in the current climate is predispositioned to believe that a man or woman who bumped into her at the marked was "copping a feel"
