Dem Rep: Women Have ‘Responsibility’ to Avoid Sexual Assault by Not Appearing ‘Inviting’
Washington Free Beacon ^ | 10/19/17 | Alex Griswold

Posted on 10/19/2017 11:27:35 AM PDT by markomalley

A Democratic congresswoman responded to the allegations against Harvey Weinstein by saying that women also have a responsibility to stop sexual assault and harassment.

"I grew up in a time when it was as much the woman's responsibility as a man's—how you were dressed, what your behavior was," Texas Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson told Dallas' local NBC5.

"I'm from the old school that you can have behaviors that appear to be inviting. It can be interpreted as such," Johnson continued. "That's the responsibility, I think, of the female."

Interviewer Diana Zoga asked if it was time to stop asking about what women were wearing and to start talking about the power that men abused.

"I think we also need to start talking about the power that women have to control the situation," Johnson responded.

"There's law enforcement, you can refuse to cooperate with that kind of behavior. I think that many times, men get away with this because they are allowed to get away with it by the women," she concluded.

Its been awhile since Ive read any of the original feminist screeds but if I remember correctly it had something to do with smashing the patriarchy by making married men have sex with them. Id guess that that reinforces the congresswomans point.

Oh, my.... this silly woman is so totally ignorant as to what her bunch decided long ago, what constitutes ‘sexual harassment’... What does she think Hollywood's long time casting couches were for in the first place? I cannot wait to hear Monica's response to being ‘responsible’ for getting the keys to ol blow hard Clinton...

How about the bjClinton using state patrol to haul in the women ... to service him... does Bernice have any advice for those women?

Boy have they done a 180 on this!

They used to say that women have the right to dress like sluts and men must pretend they were nuns.

The feminazis are going to go nuts over this inadvertent moment of sanity.

“One can never go wrong by dressing with self-respect and modesty.”

I went to the doctor yesterday to give blood for my annual physical.
A mid-30ish woman came in with her daughter. I paid no attention to either of them.
My name was called, they drew my blood and I left.
My mother had ridden with me and we went to her favorite buffet for lunch.
While eating my mom asked if I remembered the woman and girl at the doctors office. I did vaguely.
“Did you see how she was dressed?”
My mind snapped back and I remembered short shorts.
“Son, her shorts were so tight you could see her...you know. And she is only 13!”
Not being in the habit of paying that much attention to pubescent girls I hadn’t noticed.

On the way to mom’s house we stopped at a dollar store.
When I approached the check out line I noticed an old man practically drooling over the young girl ahead of him.
Not liking his look I stepped in line between him and her. I took a critical look at the girl.
Tall but very young, pretty, nice long hair and the tightest shorts I have ever seen!
So tight that they split her buttocks and screamed for people to pay attention.
Topped off by one of the t-shirts that ties off just below the breasts.
My 30 year old sons would have said she was wearing her F@@K ME! clothes.

I heard the cashier call her by name so when she waited on me I asked how well she knew the family. Her daughter was in the same grade with the previous customer.
The girl is 11 years old.

When I got back to the car I nearly cried. What is this world coming to?

Funny how the position of the left gets closer to the Islamic position.

The one with Obama giving the medals to four high profile democRAT sexual predators is a classic. Best one I've seen. Says it all in one meme.

Good job.

I agree - women in charge of anything other than their own home and children gives me the creeps. I don’t need more than one hand to count the trustworthy women who have distinguished themselves in politics or business based on their own merit to do the job. If women would be honest about it and think rationally (which is too much to ask of any of them on the Left except for Paglia), they would agree. I would raise the voting age to 26 and only those with a vested interest in this country surviving can vote - no more dual citizenship, no more welfare recipients, and definitely no one who has not been a citizen for at least five years if they are legal immigrants. An exemption would be considered for active duty military, but then we know how their ballots get ditched when they vote, so maybe that exemption is a moot point. No more affirmative action in hiring or college matriculation. Meeting fair and reasonable standards specific to the job/school. That means no more gals who take up the jobs at Lowes and Menards and then have to find a guy to do the heavy lifting.

Meanwhile the media pretends to be all high and mighty when someone, anyone, states those facts, while simultaneously pretending that the late Hugh Hefner was, as he self-described, a feminist. What a bunch of lying a-holes. And Bill Cosby must be even more relieved than Slick right about now (although Slick still has to figure out how to make Hillary's demise look like an accident).

The left wants all of the privileges of a Godless society, and none of the consequences.
Liberalism is immaturity, cloaked with the pretense of moral and intellectual superiority.

Well Bernice certainly doesn’t have to worry about appearing inviting.

Can you imagine the hysteria if a GOP congressperson made the same comment?

Once again a stupid black Rat woman gets a pass because she is a stupid black Rat woman.
