A Pittsburgh Public School teacher was seriously injured after officials say she was followed in her car and assaulted on her way home from school, allegedly in a dispute over a child’s cellphone.

The teacher, identified as Janice Watkins, had just left school for the day when a black SUV carrying a man and woman approached her vehicle.
When the teacher rolled down her window, police say the woman in the SUV threw at brick at her. Both suspects then pulled the teacher from her car, and continued to assault her until police arrived at the scene.

She walked into the school room, picked up a long stick of firewood, said to the students, “I understand you ran off the last teacher. If any of you want to start trouble lets get it over with now!”
She never had a bit of trouble with them.

There was a show from way back that had George Kennedy playing ‘Bumper Morgan’, a near retired beat cop.
He came upon something on the street and he was tapping his night stick and said to one of the perps- See that (call)box over there, Pick up the phone and tell them to send an ambulance here for you and your buddy....

Wow. Those school rankings are bad...really, really bad. It would be interesting to hear from a teacher who works there, a realistic teacher, one with his/her feet on the ground.
Why are those rankings so bad?
If I had to guess, my first guess would be that the school has a social-justice principal, one who sides with the students. Such a principal will always send disruptive students back to class. And even one disruptive student in a class will cause a lesson to grind to a halt.
My second guess would be that the school has a social-justice curriculum, where it’s more important to make social-justice posters than it is to learn how to add fractions.
Maybe it’s a combination of the two, with poor student attendance to top it all off.
“earlier dispute” ??? no, the teacher had no dispute. The child broke the rules the child was fully aware of and the parents cannot claim ignorance of. The parents should be reading the riot act to their child, not picking up a brick, pulling a woman out of a car in broad daylight and proceed to beat her, joined by two bystander ‘men’, which probably will be found to be ‘cousins’ of the child.
The child is triumphant, knowing that she caused all these people to act in a violent manner on her behalf.

Well, in my school district they set up an alternative school for chronically disruptive students. The worst of the worst were sent there. Sort of like Australia!
And it kinda worked. The students who were sent to the alternative school got individualized instruction and psychological counseling. And the classes they were removed from could finally make some progress.
But it all fell apart in less than a year. Some parents were upset, and they threatened to sue unless their children were returned to their home schools. The district administrators folded, as cowards always do.
They continued to assault her until police arrived but weren’t arrested?
Was it THE BLUE KNIGHT from the 1970s? The original TV movie of THE BLUE KNIGHT pilot show had William Holden in the lead. George Kennedy was then lead in the series.
