That flight attendant should be disciplined, causing such negative reflection on Delta Airlines.
Airline has every right to stop a person from singing on their plane. Happy Birthday, national anthem, He’s a jolly good fellow, etc.
The flight attendant should have been fired the same day. I remember the old Delta Airlines from the 60s. They were the best. That has sadly changed.
Their old Convair 880s were fuel guzzling hogs but it was the fastest thing in the air. It was ahead of its time but the engines ate fuel like a drunken sailor but fuel was cheap then. It was the most beautiful 4 engine non fanned to ever fly.
They actually started as Delta Crop Dusting service and flew out of Bernstein Park in Monroe, Louisiana off a grass strip. They then expanded to short haul passenger services in Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama.
They were a great airline at one time. They embodied what was America back then. Their employees were the most loyal but that has sadly changed. The employees did not change but Delta became a corporate mentality and the employees became union mentality.
Today Southwest Airlines has the mentality of the old and great but sadly gone Delta Airlines. I hope they keep it.

Effing assholios
Brainwashed ignorant nation
We need a good purging
Rope and lampsposts
A lot of it started already in Hollywood courtesy Ape Weinstein
I’ve tried to sing the national anthems, of several other nations when I was in their homeland as a sign of respect
In Muzo Colombia at Sunday bullfight albeit in the company of folks I dared not offend
In São Paulo during World Cup
In a pub on Londons west end
And I placed my hand over my heart same as they did
Why are so many Americans so self loathing
I know why but I can’t say here or I’ll get a time out
But all know which pet groups defame our traditions the most
Wouldn’t it be just great if U.S. citizens and other passengers, if they wished, started the practice of singing “America the Beautiful” or “My Country, ‘Tis of Thee,” every time a passenger jet lands in the U.S.? “Star Spangled Banner” is too difficult a song to sing and finish in the short time available on a plane landing.
These internationalists who spit on Us civilization are only inviting an Allah Akbar to bomb their airplane again. When will they fracking learn?
Flight attendant was successfully brainwashed in school
Were there some muzzies on the flight? other America-haters? screw em! if they don’t like it they can get off at the next stop.
Any Obama-loving traveler who is offended by our Anthem has no business in our country. The freedom-hating thugs who suppress that song remind me of the freedom-hating thugs in Casablanca:
The flight attendant was wrong, but remaining in their seats and maintaining a respectful, prayerful silence as the casket was retrieved from the aircraft are the more appropriate actions.
Delta has their own Honor Guard at Atlanta to meet every deceased military when it lands. It is a very big thing. Other parts of the Delta Team have to cover for the person when they leave to go be part of the ceremony. The National VFW gave Delta an award this year in New Orleans for their dedication to this effort.
Our National Anthem is a celebration - you might as well sing "Happy Birthday" at a funeral.
So everyone gets to sing a song of their choice on an airline now? Isnt that special. The flight attendant was right.
Something tells me that if the passengers wanted to ‘take a knee’ before getting off the plane - that would have been JUST FINE.
I would disagree.
While listening to the National Anthem under the appropriate circumstances is a powerful and wonderful thing, it is my opinion it simply isn’t an appropriate circumstance.
I think a dignified and respectful silence is best in that situation.
Just my 2 cents.
