Perhaps we should reconsider the ancient concept of sin. People used to be informed by the Bible to recognize the nature of sin, and its power to destroy the lives of individuals, societies and nations. When the knowledge of God and His ways is replaced by the sinful “wisdom” of men, destruction always follows. Always.

The divorce rate is not increasing. It may even be falling. Of course, it's not going to go back to where it was in the 1950s, but a lot has changed since the 1970s.

The country hasn't gone completely mad. Things do tend to stabilize behind the scenes over time. But you can't expect that people are going to talk as they did a half-century ago. They want to at least feel freer in their private life than their grandparents did.

Of course, that's an overall picture. Some communities are harder hit by the changes that have happened since the 1960s than others. So the reality where you live may differ substantially from the general picture.
