I don’t have knowledge of the typical Catholic or Christian church in America on this topic. Is the church really silent on this issue?
Sadly yes.
It depends on the church.

I can’t and won’t speak of what the RCC is doing, because I’m not Catholic. The mainline Protestant churches (UMC, TEC, PCUSA, ELCA, UCC, ABC, and one other, but I forget what it is) are not only silent, they are actively pursuing culture over scripture to maintain “relevance”. The more hardcore scripture-based denominations are constantly accused of intolerance for their strong stand on biblical morality.
Marriage is a sentence in the Catholic church, you are stuck with your decision you made at age 20 or whatever
I see a church constantly trying to entice new attendees with billboards of their new sermon coming up and it most often has a play on a sexual word or theme.
when a church is reaching out to the public like that (and it’s one of the 5-10k “member” churches in the area) they have already slipped to the opposite side of the bible message in my thinking.
