I’m penciling out some of your math. I’m roughly estimating in that 11 minutes - he fired off 1500 rounds.
I’m reading he also fired off as many as 9 rounds per second. And 280 rounds in 31 seconds.
I wonder just how many total shots were fired?
Another former government employee turned millionaire?
Mesquite, TX is actually probably better known- it is just outside Dallas and there are over 100,000 people there.
Mesquite, NV is more rural and less than 20,000 people.
There is also a Mesquite, NM but it is just a wide spot on the Rio Grande near Las Cruces. Population there is supposed to be around 1,000 people.
To further confuse the issue there is a Mesquite Creek, Arizona which I am not sure is an actual town but there are around 400 people there.
I was luck enough to need a 1099 *ONCE* in Vegas. Took 20 minutes to go through the paperwork.
As good a theory as any, but why all the effort to set up the video cameras in the room and in the hall? Also — wouldn’t a botched deal more likely result in a more vindictive demise for Paddock than a quick shot in the head?
It demonstrates how stupid the media is to repeatedly parrot this fact without question.
There are very few professional gamblers playing video poker. That is usually a safe game to play and not lose a lot of money. Winning big money is rare. Why not play real high stakes Texas Holdem ? Video poker is a safe time killer basically.
Jack Ruby 2.0???
Sounds like a great way to launder money.
If he was an arms dealer, he’d need some way to get his money back
into circulation.
If the government didn’t investigate such a high roller with a big winning streak, then the entire purpose of having such info forwarded to the government is wasted (or, the government is purposely looking the other way).
My working theory is that his real estate business was to some extent a money-laundering operation for the cartels. His cover for what he was telling neighbors is that he made his living as a “professional video poker player.”
He may well have some sort of gun-dealing operation going on with the same people he was laundering money for.
Paddock wanted to know exactly who he was letting in his suite. His "customers" are/were BAD Hombres. As for the single shot to his head, Paddock was no more than a useful idiot. It wasn't a botched deal. It went as planned by the "shadowy" customer.
Could you tell me which thread that is, I can’t find it?
Thanks!

Maybe he believed all that B.S. about the world coming to an end on September 23rd and flipped out when it didn’t happen.
The money transfer reports are through Dept of Treasury and as such are not criminal files, just logistical reports of monetary transfers. You could have something similar if you paid a down payment on a house with cash.
There is also a story that his once private airplane was registered now to a CIA front air service.
Supposedly he was also placed on a prescription anti-depressant in June, one that has side effects of violent behavior possibilities.
There is a theory that he broke the second window to get an air flow going between the two windows in the hotel rooms
Betting “dark side” or the don’t come line is better odds than betting with the shooter but you still don’t get true odds. The backing up the pass or don’t pass bet with the odds bet actually gives you true payout. But your initial bet still has a small house edge. So you can never get true 50/50 odds even when you backup your pass or don’t pass to the max. The house always wins :)

Just a guy...
Based on several books I’ve read on the subject: a lot, if not most pro gamblers build up some winnings on cards, dice, or even roulette. Then, they take those winnings, and do actually play the slots, because that’s where the jackpots are.
Usually they lose the money, and start the process over again, but occasionally they will hit the jackpots, which can go to 6 or even 7 digits, which is a lot more payout than if they had stuck with the slow but steady method.
....7.....pay the line.....
