What about wiring $100,000 to his girlfriend in the Philippines several days ago. Wouldn’t that attract scrutiny at the time it was made unless the bank here had no obligation. I’m sure the bank there had none but I wouldn’t know.

Just a guy, completely unknown to authorities, not even a parking ticket, oh wait...

I don’t doubt that this guy spent a lot of time in casinos. I just don’t believe he was gambling there to win money.

Great place to launder money. Just claim to have “wins” you don’t really have.

That’s why when gambling, bet craps...Always bet against the shooter like the house does..Won’t win you any friends, but can make good money...When the shooter hits a lucky streak you bet with the shooter....Like everyone says, the house always wins...Soooo,why not bet the same way the house does....

Sounds like his $100,000 was like $100 to us normal schmucks.

I’ve heard that theory. Supporting that theory is the fact that he brought so many guns into his room - many more than one would think he needed.

On the other hand, I’d bet he actually did use a lot of those guns.

I listened to the first two minutes of the shooting. There were three bursts of 100 rounds. Each burst was continuous fire - no pause at all.

Authorities say he had 12 rifles with bump stocks. I’m guessing rather than load a magazine, what he was doing is pulling rifles with 100-rd mags pre-loaded from a stack, using one rifle after another.

He would fire the full 100 rounds as a single burst, the gun would be very hot, he would toss it aside, and move on to the next gun already pre-loaded with a 100-rd mag. He did that for 11 minutes.

Then, when he saw the security guard at the door via his camera, he shot through the door hitting the guard in the leg and thinking the police were about to come through the door, shot himself. Or, maybe at that point he began to realize what it was he was doing and just stopped and killed himself. He still had 15 stacked 100-rd mags in the photo. Maybe he planned to use some of the remaining guns in a shoot-out with police Bonny & Clyde-style, but at the end just decided to kill himself.

Video poker was his game. It is impossible to win/ huge sums through slot machines, the most idiotic game there is.

Anyone that has played high stakes slots knows you can end up with a 1099 just about every other pull.

At $400 a pull on a slot machine, even a mediocre hit and you have to wait for the attendant to come and hand pay you and reset the machine.

You end up playing a couple machines at once just to keep the play going or settle for just making a lower bet at $100 a pull. At that I can keep playing for a while but even that will get a quick hand pay, play stopping win.

Vegas may be different but the point is the same. A high stakes gambler is going to be doing many $10,000 transactions.

This seems like non-news to me.

You’re not wrong. Casinos make 80% of their money from slots. They ARE willing to occasionally lose money on table games because they make sooo much on slots.

Be seen in a Casino for a daily basis for a long time. Keep your losses small, report illicit money on a W2g — gambling winnings and pay your taxes. IRS won’t care.

Great gig for drug dealers, loan sharks and bookies.

Also, a frequent hangout for middle eastern men of all age groups. Day after 9/11 I emailed the FBI about one such hangout where I swore I saw Mohammad. It was a San Diego location which many have confirmed that they worked lived or played in the San Diego/Los Angeles/Las Vegas gambling scene.

I agree, and thought he was a poker player from early reports, but sounds like he was a video poker player, which is basically just slots. His brother said this, which sounds pretty sketchy:

“He was a wealthy guy playing video poker … on cruises,” Eric Paddock told the news outlet, adding he once won $40,000 on a slot machine. “He played high-stakes video poker to be able to stay at home in the casino.”

The shooter is Stephen Craig Paddock, not Stephen Charles Paddock.

People were looking at that other Paddock early on after the shooting but it turned out to be a different guy.

No one makes a living gambling. If someone consistently wins the casinos take note real quick and stop letting them in. It demonstrates how stupid the media is to repeatedly parrot this “fact” without question.

Weren’t we told that he was “unknown” to the authorities?

I don't know what this guy is about. But constantly changing stories make it really hard to believe anything we are being told.

For example, how do you conclude an investigation in just 12 hours as a statement was made.

Conversation when something like this..

Okay, I made the statement.
What statement?
You know, the statement we talked about making.
What statement?
The one where we say we say there are no terror ties, that he is a long operator and the girl was cleared of any involvement.
You made that statement already. It has only be 12 hours.
I was supposed to wait? Nobody told me we were supposed to wait. Why didn't someone tell me?

I hear you. But it’s hard for me to believe a 64-year old cheeseburger, bagel, and Pepsi eating/drinking retired accountant in poor health could turn into Rambo on the 32nd floor of a Vegas suite at night, and maintain accurate fire out of two windows 30 ft. apart for 11-13 minutes while exchanging weapons and inhaling enough smoke to set off fire alarms.

It’s at least plausible that a trusted but nefarious illegal weapons customer turned on Paddock, shot him, then opened fire on innocent cowboys and cowgirls.

Again, he had 19 weapons, ammo, and ammonium nitrate (sp) in Vegas and his home. What good are the bomb-making chemicals to a shooter? Paddock had that stuff in Vegas to make a sale.

Just my theory.
