Based on the Early Reports, the Las Vegas Shooting Is Very, Very Strange
National Review ^ | 10-2-2017 | DAVID FRENCH

Posted on 10/03/2017 3:31:00 AM PDT by servo1969

As virtually everyone has noted from the abundant video footage of the incident, it certainly sounds as if the shooter used either fully-automatic weapons or semi-automatic weapons modified (through, for example, a bump fire stock) to closely simulate automatic fire. Moreover, the police are reporting that he had “more than 10 rifles.” He apparently rented his corner room for days and may have even set up cameras to detect when police were approaching. That’s all strange enough, but it’s even more unusual when you consider that his own family apparently didn’t know that he maintained a stockpile of guns.

[snip]

Put all this together, and the shooting is flat-out bizarre. It’s significantly different from virtually any other mass shooting in U.S. history. If the weapons were fully automatic, then he likely would have spent immense sums of money to obtain them legally, jumping through extensive legal hoops.

[snip]

So, a person who’s “not a gun guy” has either expended untold thousands of dollars to legally purchase fully-automatic weapons, somehow found them on the black market, or purchased and substantially modified multiple semi-automatic weapons — and did so with enough competence to create a sustained rate of fire. This same person also spent substantial sums purchasing just the right hotel room to maximize casualties.

[snip]

Given the firepower and the packed mass of people, it’s easy to see how the casualty count was so high, even firing from an extreme range (by the standards of mass shootings.) This was the University of Texas tower attack on steroids, conducted out of nowhere, with meticulous planning and at great expense, from a person who doesn’t seem to fit any normal profile of a mass shooter. There is much we have yet to learn, but for now, this is one of the most chilling and mysterious events I’ve ever seen.

‘reportedly’

It is known from the hotel that the room was checked in on the 28th. So which one would you hang your hat on? It is also known he used her casino credits to check into the room with. Every casino has them there and whenever sitting down at any table/machine, it is logged and points are awarded towards that particular account.

Just like Patton once said something to the point that he does not believe in paying for the same real estate twice, keep going on what is fact and although the ‘reports’ offer some sort of interesting side shows, all that can invested in is facts as they are known.

More facts will come along in the next couple of days, the picture will change on what is known and also not kept confidential because of its nature to determine if anyone else was involved so why alert them if it is in fact the case?

If you believed in ghosts. Las Vegas is so demented that in a few months, they may begin offering that suite for even more money. Stay in the infamous Paddock Suite.

There are museums and tours of various criminal past locations in Vegas. I’m sure the tour operators are already adding Mandalay Bay to their route.

And as far as I’m concerned, they could level the entire city and return it to the desert. I have to go there once or twice a year for work. I completely despise that town.

It seems too well planned for one guy. This is either ISIS or a coordinated attack on some Repubs.

Re: the girlfriend...any updates on her? How convenient that she is now out of the country. When did she leave? Hard to imagine she knows nothing about this man, his mental state, his gun/weapons collection, gambling habits/outcomes, etc. Bound to have helpful information.

You cannot convince me he did this by himself. He was the dead body left behind by the criminals. He was in over his head. Whoever did this has a lifetime of gun knowledge, it could even be connected to or a part of a government, has anyone thought of North Korea?

Please just don't throw out blatant speculations without any facts.

Based on:
Reports/video that he attended an anti-Trump rally wearing a pink shirt and a pink pussy hat
Reports he was a $100/hand gambler (backed by owning airplanes and real estate, plural)

So seems he’s a rabid Left-winger facing substantial economic ruin.
Best theory I’ve seen so far.

Not necessarily. If you are firing a fully automatic weapon into a massive crowd (22,000) packed into a confined space, a high body count is expected. Also without being graphic, with the caliber of weapon that he was firing, he’d kill more than one person with one round, depending on shot placement.

The Filipino girlfriend or girlfriends are the key .
He sent thousands overseas for them .
They left the country .
I wonder if these ladies left because the money was gone and he was desperate to get them back ?

Vegas or Reno etc.. are full of Lonely retired older Men who are easy pickings for these foreign female Casino employees .
It’s sad to see but its reality .

The girlfriend was in Tokyo and was financed by who ?
There maybe another Filipino girl too based on photos .

The key to his behavior is this person and her friends in the photos .

It would really have been nice if the guy had been taken alive for a bout of ‘rigorous interrogation’ or if he had left a manifesto behind to explain himself.
Right now, the back of my brain is yelling that Paddock had an odd phone call (”Miles to go before I sleep”) or was already dead when the shooting started and the real shooter left well before cops the got there.
I wish it would shut up.

He said police told him the gunman was in the room 32135, just one room away from his hotel room.

“I’m room 32134 so I’m just so glad I didn’t make it back to my room,” he said

There has been no confirmation that picture was him. What city was that protest in? Should be easy to establish if he was in the area during the protest. Are you saying only rabid left-wingers gamble?

I'm convinced that this whole thing is a false flag operation.. They are now saying he had 22 guns and thousands of rounds of ammo with him.. What exactly is that saying.?? Any sane person would know he would never have need for all of that armory to commit this horrible crime. The last I heard was only two of the guns were used..

I believe this was a demonstration.. He was showing the world that he could get all these guns and murder all these people and no one would know or could anything about all the weapons and ammunition he had acquired...

He was seen at and is known by the liberals that frequent various protest around the country. I now believe that this man was an extreme gun control advocate.. As of yet I have seen nothing that says otherwise...
