Based on the Early Reports, the Las Vegas Shooting Is Very, Very Strange
National Review ^ | 10-2-2017 | DAVID FRENCH

Posted on 10/03/2017 3:31:00 AM PDT by servo1969

As virtually everyone has noted from the abundant video footage of the incident, it certainly sounds as if the shooter used either fully-automatic weapons or semi-automatic weapons modified (through, for example, a bump fire stock) to closely simulate automatic fire. Moreover, the police are reporting that he had “more than 10 rifles.” He apparently rented his corner room for days and may have even set up cameras to detect when police were approaching. That’s all strange enough, but it’s even more unusual when you consider that his own family apparently didn’t know that he maintained a stockpile of guns.

[snip]

Put all this together, and the shooting is flat-out bizarre. It’s significantly different from virtually any other mass shooting in U.S. history. If the weapons were fully automatic, then he likely would have spent immense sums of money to obtain them legally, jumping through extensive legal hoops.

[snip]

So, a person who’s “not a gun guy” has either expended untold thousands of dollars to legally purchase fully-automatic weapons, somehow found them on the black market, or purchased and substantially modified multiple semi-automatic weapons — and did so with enough competence to create a sustained rate of fire. This same person also spent substantial sums purchasing just the right hotel room to maximize casualties.

[snip]

Given the firepower and the packed mass of people, it’s easy to see how the casualty count was so high, even firing from an extreme range (by the standards of mass shootings.) This was the University of Texas tower attack on steroids, conducted out of nowhere, with meticulous planning and at great expense, from a person who doesn’t seem to fit any normal profile of a mass shooter. There is much we have yet to learn, but for now, this is one of the most chilling and mysterious events I’ve ever seen.

A hotel always booked months in advance

A lily white shows up a week ago.

Doesn't have to be a Sandy Hook to be a JFK suspicious.

“I always say that after an event like this forget about it for 3-4 days and then the real facts will start to emerge.”

I was telling the guys at work just that.

“Was his mother from a wealthy family? “

Astute investments starting at an early age can build up a pretty sizable bank account. Not all wealth is inherited.

Of course, he may have robbed a few banks himself. But that is only speculation.

Where are all the social media posts by Paddock over the months/years which would reveal his growing rage at >>pick-the-target< What was his target?

There has got to be something, somewhere? He wasn't a loner. He had a girl friend who must have been aware of developments which might lead to his mass murdering behavior.

‘However he did it, I strongly suspect that he was a leftist who was strongly influenced by the constant diatribe on the left—America is bad, all whites are racist, etc.’

That’s one of my suspicions too.

His brother said that he was a country music fan.

And that is exactly what he targeted. Strange.

They HAVE to say something like that to cover for the sound that sure SOUNDS like a belt feed machine gun.

I posted a video clip above that I have studied as best I can.

There are two sounds .... one seems to be a heavy machine gun, the other a light machine gun. I have no fancy electronic stuff, but the bursts do NOT seem to match "echoing" but two different guns.

The length of the bursts indicate a heavy MG rather than an AK or AR mod.

I don’t believe it. I don’t think we will ever know the truth, but if I said what I thought this was everyone would just say I was crazy. Obama was right about how these events will keep happening.

First thing that came to mind after hearing the varying cyclic rate on those videos.

>>The media seems fixated on his Dad. That is a waste of time.

Not for them. This guy seems to be clean, no reasons to fail a background check, and possibly a little Progressive but not a screaming radical. Certainly not a racist or Trump supporter, so they have nothing.

So, they create the idea that we need to do background checks on ancestors to make sure that a person and their entire bloodline is safe to own a gun.

That’s the thread that resonates most with me. EVERYTHING we DON’T know about this reeks of liberal mental illness. The liberal media, instinctively knowing that this is not only one of theirs, but by a large degree caused by their hate reports, are avoiding the obvious questions...ignoring the giant empty hole of facts.

Have been saying my gut feeling was "Fast and Furious" from the beginning.

Also have been wondering about his daddy's bank robberies...and how much of the money was recovered.

Once statute of limitations kicks in.....it's finders, keepers.

My family, other than my wife, has no idea how many firearms I own - or what type.

None of their business.

There has got to be something, somewhere?

Nope. He was in his 50s when all that crap started. Why bother starting with that crap late in what looks like a comfortable life?

Many of us here on FR, for example, know about the many evils of Facebook, see the middle-school mentality of the Twitter sewer, have no need to share pictures of lunch, are long past dating sites, etc.

You cannot convince me he did this by himself. He was the dead body left behind by the criminals. He was in over his head. Whoever did this has a lifetime of gun knowledge, it could even be connected to or a part of a government, has anyone thought of North Korea?

The underbelly of crime in the US is the use of drugs, specifically, pain medications and opioids, which can turn anyone into an extreme narcissist who feels like God as he/she believes they have the right to all their desires. The frontal lobes of the brain and it’s ability to judge consequences do not work when those drugs are used. That this millionaire, from all reports, obviously lived the good life in retirement and before, but had a big time gambling addiction, makes it stand to my reasoning that he also had other addictions, as well. The drug problem in America is underlying so many of our other problems and it MUST be faced. We know which of our politicians are corrupt this a.m. Begin with Hillary Clinton who immediately tried to make political hay out of the worst shooting event in our history. She has just shown us more of the selfishness in her in her heart. Are we surprised. No! My bet is that this mysterious shooter was using mind altering drugs.

LOL, FReepers figured out within 24 hours that they were paid crisis actors at Charlottesville, State Department/CIA employee.

Come to think of it, David French’s pal McMuffin was CIA. Wondering if this explains French’s freaky behavior, too...
